Due to your review I bought this bow. It really shoots great. It has a minimal hand shock. But that is far less than a longbow without a pistol grip. I own two bow from Oak Ridge. There great cheap entry/medium level bow. Thanks for your reviews.👍

World Archery Rules for longbow. Bow lengths 160cm (63 inches) for men; 150cm (59 inches for woman and children). Only wood (or bamboo) arrows are allowed. Archery Australia allows wood or aluminum arrows for longbow.

About the draw weight- In many place, 40 lbs is the minimum required draw weight for hunting. Many traditional shooters use 40-45 lbs of draw weight to hunt. This bow is called 'American longbow.' The limbs of this how has rectangular section where 'English longbow' limbs are flat in front and curved in back side, more like D shape.
