Same here. He stands for reason, logic, and lived-in wisdom. His opposition to allowing the black community to feel like victims or feel sorry for themselves forces me to reevaluate my own life. Don't blame politicians or red state/blue state for people's personal decisions to break the law. The government isn't responsible for raising you or lifting you out of poverty. The best thing that youth sports taught me is that there are times where, no matter how hard you work and how smart/talented you are, failure is a periodic fact of life. I recently put in a lot of work to wow an employer, who I believe would offered a great job, except for one problem: he loved somebody else just tiny bit more. Frustrating and demoralizing. It is easy to blame any number of other people or circumstances. But we don't. It is difficult to pick ourselves and try again. But we do. Even if we fail again and again. Setbacks are merely another opportunity to succeed. To me, this seems to be a wrap-around of Larry Elder's message to the black community and to the American community at large.

I have to admit as a proud Black Australian man of East African Somali descent believe that Black Americans need to be more open minded because Black people are not a monolith period. Here are four simple steps to have a less troubled life step one: graduate from high school, step two: do not have kids before you get married, step three: hold down a job and step four: do not commit crimes. I honestly believe whether you agree or disagree with me as long as you are respectful and tolerant I believe that Black American progressives need to change their attitude by getting rid of the gang culture plus the victim mentality which is a sign of low self-esteem plus weakness. The United States of America needs a huge criminal justice reform, economic reform, gun control reform, police reform, political reform and prison reform. All I could say is that my heart goes out to the Black American community in the United States who are struggling not all but some and I hope they make a huge progress. As human beings we should all follow the three principles of life compassion, empathy and love to have a more perfect union.

I truly respect and admire Larry Elder. He is an alternative to the group think in the Black community. The Black community can be a toxic place because diversity of thought is not allowed.

God what a man like Larry Elder could have done as governor of California. A man of intelligence, integrity and love of country. Oh, wait a minute, someone with those qualifications could never become governor in California!

@patricia so then you're for gavin, the establishment, and white liberal.. The same exact type that thinks they know what's best for minorities as if they are too stupid to think for themselves. The left has done nothing other then breed a welfare state and when that happens, you have an entire group of recipients that are solely dependent upon the government and that is no bueno. When that happens the government gets to do whatever it wants because it doesn't have to fear backlash or people actually raising concerns. Breeding a welfare state and victim mentality is what they do best and furthermore, the left doesn't want to actually fix it. That would require them lifting a finger. The left literally runs off of the systemic oppression of minority Americans, exploits them over and over, yet do nothing but cry fake tears and hug you while they stick the knife in your back. If the problem was actually fixed, the left wouldn't have anything to run on anymore! Unless you need reminding, it was the Trump administration that got legislation passed for both criminal justice reform and privatized prison reforms with Senator Tim Scott of SC..not the current administration.. Not the obama administration. We want a country where everyone can prosper together. Its called working. Having the standard of life you deserve and your family. Welfare isn't going to get you there and it is the exact same reason, just like affirmative action, as to why people can't advance in life. I believe 100% in gov assistance for those who truly need it that can't get out of bed to work and or those that are suffering from a mental disability. I also believe in social security. I don't Believe in giving welfare to people other then that. Like I said, it is because of those systems currently in place, that no one cam advance so they need someone to blame.. And it aint gonna be the people giving them their government aid.
