My additional pick would be Just One of the Guys. I know the movie itself is problematic AF in retrospect (no one come for me 😅) but I will admit that the androgynous looks that the Terry character wore as Boy Terry and Girl Terry STILL inspire me in terms of fashion to this day. GREAT video. I'd LOVE to see you do a style progression of iconic TV characters over time. My vote would be for Buffy for the first!

I added so many of these movies to my must watch list! Romy & Michelle and Cher Horowitz were heavy sources of inspiration due to watching those movies WAY too young 😂 My style has evolved but their spirit always lives on

Sweet home Alabama - I have the turquoise wrap - my grandmas knitted for me it’s fantastic but still on the hunt for shrewd cherry dress! It’s so early 2000’s - the bootcut jeans - off the shoulder jumpers - with a bit of country - perfection! Oh and any kind of musical! Oklahoma and guys and dolls in particular are a big inspiration for me

I love this so much fashion is the number one thing I notice when watching film and television. I know it is a tv show and you briefly mentioned it but I've got to give some more time to Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Buffy's style was so critical to the message of that story because she showed that you can be feminine and strong. So many badass women are portrayed as "one of the boys" but Buffy was truly a girly girl to the max and a badass and that shines through in her wardrobe. Like hell yes you CAN slay vampires in a mini skirt!
@caitlinw.23704 жыл бұрын
Omg, SO MANY movies to watch! Glad you mentioned Buffy, even though it's a TV show (though the there is a movie, with pretty amaze fashion from the early 90s). "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" also such good fashion. I absolutely LOVE John Cusack in "Say Anything." Majorly loved Duckie, and was honestly heart broken when Molly's character went with the other guy. A personal favorite is Jennifer Connelly in "Labyrinth." That loose, white blouse with the vest! So good. (Bowie is obviously iconic, and amazing, as always.)

I am SOOOO happy you added Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead. One of my faves of all time. SOOOO many movies that you could have added... but you do have an amazing, amazing list!! Probably a lot of movies that you have never heard of before too. Mannequin, Can't Buy Me Love, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Fast Time At Ridgemont High, American Graffiti, Just One Of The Guys, Ruthless People (Bette Midler is BRILLIANT!!), Mystic Pizza, Blade Runner, Splash, Overboard, Witches of Eastwick...(Jack Nicholson as the Devil... LOL!), Private School, Married to the Mob, Beaches, Some Kind Of Wonderful, License to Drive (The two Coreys that I loved sooooo dearly!), Better Off Dead. SOOO many... (The 80s represented age 5 to 15 for me. ) 1992... LOL! That was the start of my senior year!

SOO many of these movies are on my fashion inspo list, but ALSO the movie The Runaways changed me as a person. It's based upon the real life band of the same name (Kristen Stewart plays Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning plays Cherie Curie) and both Joan and Cherie helped work on the movie as well. But oh my GOD just seeing these icons dress however they damn well pleased and just from Cherie's gaudiness to Joan's more masculine vibes to Lita Ford's short shorts and Sandy's ~classic Cali vibes~ UGH just such a great movie with such good fashion vibes ❤️

this video is everythiiiing!! so many iconic fashion moments in these movies that I know and love and so many other new discoveries. Thankyou sm! I absolutely ADORE you channel!! Some recommendations for part 2 1. Any Anne Hathaway movie my honorable mentions go to Devil Wears Prada obvi, The Intern (for some girlboss relatable and timeless office looks), Les Mis+Ella Enchanted (for that peasanty girl vibes that's super trendy rn), Princess Diaries 1+2 and Oceans 8 cuz DUH they are at the met gala and that entire cast which is surreal 2. Life Size with Tyra Banks (I literally wanted everything she's wearing in that movie) and the great and already mentioned Lindsey Lohan 3. Mamma Mia (both) for bohemian chic summer vacation vibesss from Sophie+Donna and the rest of the cast super singular styles (Tanya is also fiiiire) 4. Honey with Jessica Alba all her looks are sooo good, also her in Good Luck Chuck its super cutesy 2000's girl next door vibes 5. The Matrix (leather Inspo forever) also, a good movie reference for anyone who says wearing an all black look is boring 6.Cameron Diaz in the mask and the sweetest thing (all the three main girls really) 7. The Craft (all the looks ara amazing) 8. Baby in Dirty Dancing 9. Girlmore Girls and Zoe Kravitz in Big Little Lies (some tvshow honorable mentions)
