Bjorn, I have a suggestion for the problem with the ice on the headlights. I expect you can buy a product -where you are- called 'Hot Hands Instant Hand Warmers.' From Amazon* they are £5.20 (UK pounds/Sterling) and these* come in packs of 6. You could easily carry some in your glovebox for just such ice melting occasions. Other products are available of course. Loved the way you showed us the Infart sign. Appeals to my sense of humour.
Very long stretches between chargers in Sweden in winter are scarry. The landscape in Sweden is desolate also in comparison with Norway. Even gas stations with Shuko chargers are far apart. Nice video!

Hey Björn! I bought myself a Ryobi Cordless Heatgun (R18HG-0) for my Model 3 for situations like that and it works wonders! Also great for frozen door handles/windows and to clear blinded frozen cameras. Just be careful not to concentrate the heat on any one spot for too long and just fan it back and forth on the area you want to thaw and then wipe it off.

Wife's 12V hair drier works well
@EC18FEA30B5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that also sounds like a good solution, just need a long 12V-cord I guess? It wouldn't help if the handles/windows are frozen and you can't get in to plug it in though.

Last two years I’ve needed winter tyres but made do with summer tyres. Just not being able to drive for a few weeks. This year I fitted Nokian and of course there’s no snow. Unless you count one day. But at least for that 24hr, period, the car wasn’t stuck in the garage. The noise is slightly more but nothing to write home about.

Still loving your videos! I learn so much from you! I’ve had my Model x 100D for 6 months now... I absolutely love driving it... and yes the Nokian tyres - I have them, they are brilliant in icy conditions, but positively gagging for nice quite Summer tyres again! :)

At altitude especially, freezing rain can occur as a mist of super-cooled water well below freezing. Airplanes run into it all the time. Snowboarders and skiers can get coated with it too - googles and all. The super-cooled drops freeze on contact with something.

keep a small 1L bottle of winter washer fluid in the car to pour on headlights if needed.

There’s a supercharger in Arvidsjaur....must be fairly new but not sure why it’s not showing on the Tesla Map. I drove past it last month and it was working. Nice to see you drive on some roads I know really well! EDIT: Realise now that you weren’t heading through Arvidsjaur!

The 3 still had the yellow stickers on the rims. I peeled those off as soon as I noticed them. Probably useful to people mounting tires but meh. "It's a Beast" - Model X shows 666 km/hr charging speed. Michelin X-Ice tires have a distinct road sound too. Grippy
@nevco87745 жыл бұрын
In that snow storm I would prefer Model X for air suspension and higher ground clearance in comparison to Model 3. Also I believe driving Audi Etron would not be able for choose the Sweden route as you did in Model X since I did not see chargers except Tesla onces. Very informative and entertaining video!

Bjork Tesla should give you heated headlights for ice.
@kardy125 жыл бұрын
I find heavier cars tend to be more stable in icy conditions in general - so part of the reason for the X’s more confident feel could also be because of the higher weight than the 3.

Hi Björn, can it be that the 30 kWh/100km is without heating energy and other energy’s. In the Model 3 is it like that. That is strange because other cars shown the hole used energy. When yes the model x use much more energy than this 30 maybe 35 or even more.

If manufacturers really were concerned with safety it would not cost them much to employ heated element headlights (and taillights) for sub-zero climate markets. LEDs are too efficient with minimal heat output compared to halogen
