Love - Forever Changes, an album that means a lot for so many. You both would love it, as would most of the community, I predict. Garage Rock, Prog, Southern Rock, Art Pop, Soul, Country, Folk, Hard Rock - isn't music a wonderful expierience every time? And Sugarman, wunderbar!!

I really loved this marathon. This feels like the NicknLex “Nuggets” episode. 😊. As others may have noted, the MC5 cut was the first (correction: 2nd) song on their first album, and you can really feel the energy (and the sweat) coming off that whole live record. I also liked the two Rodriguez songs. The last one reminded me a little bit of Donovan. Great stuff all around.

Cool Marathon! Check out the documentary: Searching For Sugar Man. He’s a living legend. Though he faded into obscurity in the US, an early 1970s musician known as Rodriguez became a huge hit in South Africa and was widely rumoured to have died. Two obsessed fans set out to learn the man's true fate. Btw, Del Amitri ✌🏻

'Jumpers, coke, sweet Mary Jane'! I have been transported back in time to January 1976. Freshly arrived in Durban, South Africa I find that every single bar, club, party that I attend is playing songs by some dude called Rodriguez! Everywhere all I hear is Cold Fact by Rodriguez, with the two biggest songs being 'Sugar Man' and 'I Wonder'. I thought I knew the music scene, coming in from London. but I had never heard of Rodriguez. Neither had anyone else in the world (apart from Australia and New Zealand) and they wouldn't for many years until he was rediscovered due to the 'Searching for Sugar Man' movie. I love that it still stands up 50 years later. MC5's 'Kick out the Jams' is a classic, and has been covered by many bands. My favourite version is by Blue Oyster Cult on their 'Some Enchanted Evening' live album. And, for a real treat, Love's 'Seven and Seven Is' is on Rush's only covers album 'Feedback'. What an album that is, only 8 songs but every one a delight! 8 songs by bands such as The Who, Love, Buffalo Springfield and The Yardbirds that inspired Geddy, Alex and Neil when they were young. A lovely marathon Dave, and a great bonus track Nick. Thank you!

I saw Arthur Lee and Love 3x in LA...once at UCLA Royce Hall and Paul Stanley was there and all the other famous rockers to pay homage to the rock god, Arthur. Jimi Hendrix was his guitarist once. The other time was at the House of Blues in LA with boyfriend and former Badfinger lead singer Kevan Michaels who were friends. The last time was at the Troubadour in West Hollywood where I found a loft over the stage with a couch and watched him perform from overhead ...he saw me and sang up at me for Seven Is. He was a god. I am now friends with his bandmate Johnny Echols and happy to intro you.

MC5 was from my hometown Detroit and considered the precursor to punk. The lead singer was famous for pissing into the audience. And women would try to catch the stream in their mouths. Wild ...

It's pronounced "strict" + "nine", a poison used often in pesticides. This was a really fun grouping of songs, had only ever heard the MC5 song, and that only once. Great vibes! **It was really cool of you Nick to add a bonus tune.

Oh boy, these marathons keep getting better and better. I'm a huge garage rock fan, and was happy enough to see the Sonics live some years ago (!) driving an audience of youngsters insane. They are nice, elderly gentlemen who are still...pretty badass. Former MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer also toured a couple of years ago with an all star band playing the whole MC5 debut live. Pure punk energy 😎 Thanks for adding "Sugarman". Rodriguez was an obscure artist who just vanished until somebody re-discovered Sugarman and decided to find out what happened to this guy. I think there's a whole documentary about it.
