Even on the Nürburgring it's an eternity but on Silverstone you almost get lapped

But we’re talking about a car that is almost 2 tons, so almost 2.5 times the weight of an f1 car, and has way less downforce. 60 seconds is not bad at all.

With less horsepower, different tires and add in the driver differential, shoot….60 is not bad at all.

Many years ago Honda did a race. A Honda saloon car set off, then a gap and an NSX set off and finally a Honda powered F1 car set off. the F1 crossed the line first even after its huge handicap

To be honest, I would expect a F1 car to lap any road car, so the 60 secs is not surprising. For a road car, the M8 is a rocket. 👌

It'd be great if you could get access to an F13 M6 or perhaps both an F10 M5 and F90 M5 to compare them on a track and how the cars have changed from generation to generation. If you're ever in New Zealand you can drive mine but not sure if that'll ever happen!

The Sky F1 coverage quoted the AMG GTR as 53 seconds slower, so they were saying on the F1 coverage today, so that makes the M8 quite a bit slower than the Merc. Just saying....

60 seconds in Formula is like years, that is a minute... A good pit stop is like 20-22 secs... I guess it's impressive for a road car but not that impressive when you realise how slow that is in an actual formula one race, regardless of the track 60 secs is an eternity.
