I’ve got both a 6NZ caterpillar and a 60 series Detroit. The 6NZ I was having intermittent problems that I thought was a fuel delivery problem it turned out to be a break in the wiring harness and just when you hit the right bump the ECM was losing power and they would shut off like you turn the key off.

Yep seen that happen before two.It is crazy something that simple can create huge problem.

Good stuff bud thanks. Having issues with my Detroit ddec 3 60 series 12.7 liter,checked just about everything besides pulling injectors dues to no white smoke but my cylinders 2,4,6 are missing or not even hitting that’s what the computers says anyway. Took my ecm to get tested 2 months ago and was told it was good And I checked all of my wiring harness to the injectors and I’m getting power just wondering what you think

My fan stays on and I'm thinking it's the ecm I use to get a lot of check engine light up hill but it stops showing that...the other day all my lights starts acting weird

Lost oil pressure sensor, or wiring harness, replace both them, hopefully it's not the ECM

i got ecm in my fld 120 in 2013 from detroit at the time for $1200 or so including programming and installation. Just last month i started getting issues and low voltage error so i neeeded ecm again and got it for $1800 from same place with installation. not 2 years like you but they do go bad.

Make sure when you start the truck turn the key on and wait a minute and then start the truck once in a while if you turn the key and start the truck right away he can throw the code on

where did you get an ecm for 1800 if you don't mind me asking?

If the ECM battery dies, your check-engine light will stay on permanently. It throws a code for it. Pretty easy to diagnose.

Not always I seen it with a completely kills everything off

Hey what up i am having a issue where the truck i am going down the road and i feel it like mis firering and when the truck idle its idle where weird sometimes i am in the bunk and i here like and changing mode or something i did replace engine harness but i haven't got check engine light or nothing very lazy pulling up the hill and something i fell like fuel issues or something change injectors and its like no power when pulling just engine makeing weird noise what you think???

In the cold weather my 12.7 will start fine, but the engine will rev itself way high for a couple of minutes and then it will run fine. This scares me because it can’t be good on the motor. It only happens in the cold weather. You ever experienced this?

I am having a fit out of my 07 century, gouges not reading, very poor power, it has never fail to start, no check engine light, doesn't come on at all

@@arsentrucking7883 I do get erratic reading on all gouges on that side, boost pressure comes and goes, if it's raining all work fine, no water in truck either
