I've listened to a bunch of comparissons now and i prefer the sound of the AM8 over the Shure mics every time. The AM8 just sounds more natural to me. If i want a deeper tone to my voice, like i would have with a Shure mic, i can simply EQ the AM8. Making that the other way around is almost impossible.

@@moykun5643 i have a Hercules 200 stream XLR for it. If you use it via USB, most people suggest to get voice meter banana for 30 bucks, since you get a virtual audio mixer with many different inputs and can EQ your voice in there. There're more than 100 tutorial videos for voice meter. And i mean literally over 100, so you get tons of help setting it up

The XLR removed a some of the muddiness and nasally tone of the USB counterpart of the AM8. I have this mic for about 3 months now, planning to get the XLR equipment for it.

@@CalmFrog for a USB / XLR DYNAMIC mic at this price point, it really is amazing. It keeps out extra ambience, noise, etc. I honestly recommend it, especially if you can get a voucher for it for lesser then its a steal

Dude. The mute button needs to change ASAP. This mic sounds soooo good for the price but the amount of times I've accidentally touched it without knowing!

Just flip it around so you have the mute on top and the gain buttons at the bottom

Either flip it around or pay like $60 for their audio interface and an xlr cable

I use this mic on my channel and it does work well. However the one thing that is bad about it is the handling noise! It will pick up even the slightest bump or touch! Put this thing on a boom arm and don’t touch it, the arm, or the table/desk it’s clamped to. Other than that, great mic.

the am8 in XLR sound better than USB, very small difference, one have to wear headphone to pick it up. but it is there. am8 is more board casty while the mv7 is more radio voice feeling (tinnier) thanks exactly what i need since i happen to be stuck between choosing one.

Tbh I can easily hear diff between USB and XLR on AM8 through phone dynamics (albeit on a flagship) in this video Also I didn't like the mv7 sound (esp considering price diff) whatsoever

This is exactly what I was looking for. I do not if I should spend that much for a good mic ? when I actually think the fifine sounds better but the Shure one is the most chosen by podcasters.... I do not know !!! HELP !

You are really supposed to speak into the top of the mic so its not bad having the there mute coz its not technically the back.

Hey what recording software do you use? After updating my pc, grabbing a hyperx mic and elgato face cam pro I'm interested in starting content creation to bring more traffic to my business. I'm starting with OBS but my videos are consistently laggy. Any response or video would be awesome!

Please tell me which microphone is best for me to choose up to $100? Input data: the current microphone is a t669 with a pantograph, the sound insulation of the room is 5/10, there are no sound panels (but there is a desire to purchase), an audio card is only built into the computer. Goals: voice-over of videos, recording videos on KZbin or tick tok. Most likely in the future I will buy a sound card. Now I am most inclined to a dynamic microphone, but I am also considering condenser ones. Now the choice has fallen on 2 models from fifine: AM8 and K688. Which of these microphones should I choose, or are there better solutions?
@Juggleboy
@Juggleboy Жыл бұрын
I have not personally used the K688. However, from what I have seen, most people seem to recommend it over the AM8. It should definitely get the job done

I have the same mic. Although it's a dynamic mic, when put on the desk, it still can pick up some noise when you type on your laptop. But the sound is still ok though.

Great review! I have a budget Samson Q2U dynamic mic that is similar in features - USB and XLR interface but no RGB and no mute button. It does have an off/on switch. Coming from Q2U, I may go after the AM8 as I feel the mute button will be helpful during meetings. Thank you as well showing that AM8 lighting can be turned off totally as I am not a fan of a lot of RGB.

@Zynphii
@Zynphii Жыл бұрын
If any of you are still having problems, try what I'm doing. Keep mic close to your mouth as is with podcasting mics. They're always very close to the mouth which gives it that warm, bass sound to it. Gain levels depends on the distance. For me, I have it maxed out and close to my mouth because it suits my voice. If you're a loud speaker, try reducing the gain and moving the mic away or reducing the gain and keeping it close. Use voice meeter to add additional gain/bass. With a deeper voice like mine, adding bass can really make it sound like you're doing voice overs. Higher voices can still benefit from this, but you'd just need to adjust to what feels right to you. Voice meeter also has an option where you can hear yourself, so testing all of these settings can benefit from it.

@@Zynphii To keep from clipping or having to re-adjust gain, I use compression with makeup gain. If you don't mind using compression, I'd highly recommend it, its almost like having gain and compression all rolled into one
