MUSCLE THE NATURAL WAY There have been a few comments made here and in our other videos that wave off these ‘elders’ physicality and ability as the result of either Testosterone Replacement Therapy or Steroids. Before you let yourself off the hook and dismiss their results as only achievable with those methods, please note that the accelerated decline in natural testosterone that we see in our modern world is not normal. Steep drops in testosterone are more likely a result of lifestyle changes than ageing. One can maintain good levels of testosterone later in life by addressing their lifestyle. Here are 10 natural methods: 1. Exercise. 2. Don’t overtrain. Exercise shouldn’t make you feel broken. 3. Eat a healthy balanced diet. We all know this, but we often need a reminder just how damaging eating poorly is. 4. Reduce or eliminate sugar. Too much sugar is not beneficial for maintaining good testosterone levels. 5. Reduce stress. Stress produces cortisol which torches testosterone long term. 6. Sleep. Lack of it can cause cortisol levels to spike. 7. Too much caffeine (reduce the cups of coffee and ditch the pre-workout). Again this can spike cortisol levels. 8. Reduce or eliminate alcohol (and other recreational drugs). Too much is not helpful for maintaining good levels of testosterone. 9. Avoid estrogen-like compounds. These are found in many plastics and cosmetics. 10. Vitamins and minerals known to help are vitamin D3, fish oils and magnesium. Preferably eat foods high in this. Alternatively you can supplement them.

Could not agree more, I train with a group of age 50+ swimmers and we compete in the National Championships annually and I swim for the county in my age group. I got to the point of training five times a week in the pool… intense sessions for one hour in the morning and I felt broken in the afternoons I’ve reduced it to 3 times a week and I am much better now. I even went to my GP to have my testosterone levels tested and she told me they were higher than normal. This should give everybody inspiration, that you can train quite intensively in your later years. I’ve since taken up cycling more intensively and combine that with weight training and my swimming for an overall benefit.

Good man, Geoff. I'm 53 years-old. I've had my bloods checked for 21 years now. Trained in multiple sports for 36 years. My testosterone level is currently, 39.80 nmol/L (1147.91 ng/dl), which is considered sky high. What people don't appreciate is that my diet and lifestyle has been grade 1 since 1988. All I hear is, "you must be one something." I am, a happy healthy lifestyle. 'Manui Dat Cognitio Vires'.

Hi Geof I started distance running at age about 38 in the jogging boom. Reached a couple of peaks at 41 45 the odd injury and other commitments held back until I was 70 grabbed 4 or 5 parkrun age group records and a +75 one still stands. But at 72 I fancied taking up sprinting training and won a few in the midland vets league and ran my best 200 at 75 training was mainly 50 metre flat out sprints uphill on grass plus the drills and dynamic flexibility I found sprint training great fun unlike distance running. But I am crazy still playing rock music at open mics at 83. Such fun!

I weigh ten pounds more than I did when I was running 400 and 800 meters on the track in high school. Naturally, I'm a lot slower now. But I can still do it. I don't compete because competition does not do it for me. I simply love to run fast so I do. I climb big mountains to ski down them and I hold my own with partners of any age. Some of the strongest people in the mountains I know are older than I am. I eat lots of vegetables and protein every day. I don't drink alcohol. I try to minimize sugar but I admit I have a sweet tooth. And I am sleeping better now than I ever have in my life. Whether it's sprinting or something else get a consistent activity that you do for fitness over the years. When you have kids just drop and do pushups a few times a day, or squats. Do something every day even if it's only a minimum at times. It's a mindset and discipline. If you give yourself any out you will take it, so require something from yourself every day. Two minutes of exercise is something and better than nothing. Throw a twenty pound rock around for a few minutes. Literally pick it up, over your head and throw it for two minutes. See how you feel at the end, then maybe do another two minutes.

Boy aren’t you wrong about that, modern medicine knows nothing about health. People are going back to the old ways, not the new ways. People eating healthy was natural 100 years ago, processed food, drugs medication have severely shortened and destroyed the quality of life.
@fizzYcaL3 жыл бұрын
@@BlessedBeJESUSCHRIST Thanks for commenting. I hear you both. There are medical advances that are preventative in nature, like various types of screening that help people adjust their lifestyles and live longer more quality lives. But there are also lots of medical advances that can extend life but not necessarily quality. Dr Sinclair talks about both these types of medicine in the ‘Lifespan’ book. I highly recommend it. And yes to you both on nutrition. Blessings! And I really appreciate the watching, commenting and discussing! 👊

You see this is what I don’t understand how he started he track and filed career at the age of 43 and he was able to get some help. I’m 32 years trying to resume make track sport and year there’s doesn’t seem to be a coach that’s willing to help. But the coach thus far wants you be a world champion...Olympic athlete ...diamond league , basically they laughs at me so how in the hell do You find a track coach that willing to help and take you seriously?
