All that I did was put some decent mounts/optics on it and upgrade the trigger and it still groups within a pellet diameter at 25yds after 10 years and many thousands of rounds. The key for me was finding the right pellet, a heavy but high quality projectile that remained subsonic. Maintenance helps too. :)

Keep on loading them break barrels without holding the barrel... eventually a trigger sear will fail at the wrong time and you will loose a finger tip or two. Don't think it can happen? A Beeman R9 trigger sear failed as I was holding the barrel as I was raising the barrel and it slammed the barrel shut and bent the barrel upwards as it snatched it out my hand and that was on a primo condition R9 that's a high end gun.. after that I wouldn't EVER trust a break barrel without holding the barrel down and in a under lever or side level I wouldn't ever trust the anti bear trap. You keep doing it and it will get you eventually.

Mannnn... you would've loved the Walther LGV (discontinued). Better than the HW95/R9. It was only let down by the trigger unit. Also heavy so not good for stalk hunting... But internally, the LGV (vs the HW95/R9) was practically a tuned rifle. If you're handy and have a spring compressor tool (very important for safety), you can upgrade the internals on the HW95/R9 with a tuning kit from Jim Maccari (airrifleheadquarters) or Tom Gore (vortek). Get rid of that twang. Or get into the airgun forums and get it tuned by one of the pros there. May I recommend tuning for accuracy, not for power, at around 11 foot pounds. Ask the pro tuner, they'll know what to do. At that smooth power level, you can print half inch groups at 50 yards on calm days AND will minimize the hold sensitivity of that gun (this will further help in accuracy). If you're going to keep that, get it tuned! Look up VerminhuntersTV's old videos (Si is a great shot and does the rifles justice) and see what a tuned rifle can do. 177 is fine, with proper shot placement, and that's easier to do with a tuned rifle. It's what our UK friends work with, although some do prefer the 22 for close range ratting. That HW95/R9 will last you a lifetime and always put a smile on your face every time you come back to it. Great choice.

Ik that beeman does good for hunting if you know how to aim I popped a bird with the .22 caliber pellet I’m sure you could probably get some squirrels with it, I’d also say that 600 dollars is expensive for an air rifle but then again I asked for a $700+ USD Seneca Recluse II which is a .357 (9mm) PCP Airgun for my recent 29th Birthday along with some Seneca flat point 127gr .357 (9mm airgun slugs) idk why they class them as both .357 and 9mm but it’s miss leading up on handling the slug it’s more of a .357 caliber over 9mm as I’ve shot a Rossi .357 magnum chambered in .357 magnum. And I have one floating around my room that my moms now ex husband had gave me long ago along with a 115gr 9mm that my mom gave me and a box of .380 auto ammo for my grandfathers little handgun in my safe, let’s just say I love collecting different ammo, I’ll say this owning a pcp air rifle chambered in a large caliber slug is the next best thing to owning a real firearm for the fact that 1 here there’s no registration required, 2. You’re not limited on where you can shoot like with a real firearm, and some air rifles can do just as much damage as the real deal, this caliber I have is enough to drop most small to medium game.

Can you hunt deer with a .357 airgun?
@CajunReaper959 ай бұрын
@@Nurse_Xochitlthat I’m not sure idk if it would have the power to take down a deer although there’s big bore air guns that’ll take down deers easily but then you’re getting in to the 1000+ dollar range but who knows I’ve seen guys take down wild hogs with .357 air guns so possibly but don’t take my word for it.

How to hold a brake barrel rifle is the most important thing when looking for accuracy. The ammo and your breathing is also important but, the balance point and light hold will make you a better shooter with those. Try different ammo with the cheaper ones and you will be surprised at some results. Great video man!

Nice video, the reason you are not getting good accuracy while hunting is because when zeroing/accuracy testing you are using a different hold or a different way of basically holding the gun as compared to while hunting which is offhand. In order to get the best accuracy zero your scope while shooting offhand to cover hunting scenarios. With the weichrauch you can easily get half an inch group at 35 yards. Also the trigger is adjustable for the weichrauch. It's a great gun looking forward to another video on the weichrauch. Also main key is to always use the same hold.

My tip; Zero your gun 0.25 inch low at 33 yards. Prevents over shooting at longer ranges. Holdover is a tricky thing. Rather shoot too low than too high... Think about back drop.

I don't see what is so special about shooting a bird for no reason other than to make a video. You shoot it, you eat it!
