Thanks Esther for the review! It's fantastically great for such a value I agree! I had the lower priced regular fiddlerman carbon fibre bow (not the pro one you reviewed) and my friend liked it so much when I loaned it to her, I ended up giving it to her as a Christmas present! You make it sound amazing! It would be super interesting if you compared bows with different prices based on the amateur point of view (so maybe like a "kit bow" the type that comes wit a student level violin 50-100 usd, maybe an intermediate 100-300, a 300-600 and maybe a "beginner professional" so people can see the difference ans have an idea what to purchase within their means ? I personally own one quite similar to the one in this video, as an amateur I'm quite happy with it ^^

Your technic of sautille, staccato is so beautiful, we could dream to do as well if we buy this bow;-) but there are hours of exercise to do half so good...by the fact is it a « vegan » bow with végétal fibers instead of horse hair?? I think vegetal fibers would be less precise...

From India. I've just purchased a carbon fibre bow (not this brand) and I find it amazing. A bit of perspective: It was around USD 100 only BUT that's one fifth my monthly pension, and 8 times the cost of my previous locally made bow! So it was an absolutely "best fit " great buy for me 😊 Value for money Thanks for a great review

That looked and sounded like a very good test!! You didn't mess around, especially with that Carmen stuff at the end!! Brilliant playing, as usual, and listening for the tone or the articulation to falter due to your test bow not being up to par, I heard nothing even go a little bit amiss. I was also listening to your review, where I think you were searching for something not to like, because of the price range of bow you're used to using, but it sounds like this one really knocked your socks off!! :) What I wonder is: Would you consider putting that bow into your rotation, for outdoor gigs, or informal rehearsals, maybe to save your big-time bow for bigger occasions?

I Upgraded from my 200€ brasil wood bow to a 430€ pernambuco bow. The new bow comes directly from brasil and is a french style bow. Due to the fact that it comes directly from brasil it is a bit more affordable, because you have no middlemen for the wood.

@@Iaido_Tests Thanks! I am in process to buy my first wood bow, it's quite difficult lots of options and prices out there. I hear great things about Arcos Brasil and Marco Raposo they go around 550-650$ for nickel and 750-850 for silver and special edition are 1350$ that's Canadian dollar. I also I've tried a * W.E Dorfler * Silver bow that was 1000$+ tax and a Ernest Roth at the same price that I liked. Not sure the reputation and value of these bows... Which one would be best. I found under 1000$ there are not much good option that would beat my cheap Carbon Fiber bow. I am surprise you just bought a bow without trying it, was it worth it?

@@amanhasnoname6223 no, I tried the bow. I would recommend to always try the bow before buying. I had the bow for a week, because my other bow got new bow hair. But I liked the loan one that much, that I had to buy it. It's a "A. Carvalho Brasil" bow.

Hello Esther! First of all i admire your work. Thank you for sharing with us. If its possible, I have some questions. I am not a professional violinist so I do not have a lot of knowledge in differents materials( like testing differents rosins, differents bows and even differents instruments) to have a base to compare what is better or not, or when a string is in time to be changed or the bow hair , and also, good products here in Brazil are very very very very kkkk expensive, so its make difficult. When I play sometimes some notes the violin denies the sound, so I repeat the note and the sound returns. Is it my string, or bow hair or my instrument? ( I am using evah pirazzi string for 8 months) Is it true that better instruments are harder to play? Brazil wood is best to a bow? Is it Mongolia horse hair really the best? Thank you very much for your attention. Success! Sincerely, Leandro
@ingridayarza4 жыл бұрын
Hello Leandro, I'm not Esther but I think I can help hehe (btw greetings from Panama🇵🇦) You need to change the strings already. I chsnge them about every 4 months maximum. Pernambuco wood is the best but actually the Brazil government has put regulations on it. Brazil wood is not the same, it's lower quality but at the end you need to test severa bows to get the best and also horse hair for the bow is the best. I would also say that better instrumentos are easier to play for the fact that they're made with more attention to detail and measurements. The same applies to the bow. Sometimes what you need is a better bow. The bow strokes become more confortable and the playing itself becomes way more comfortable. I tried to be as concise as possible kk. Greetings, Ingrid 🎻

@@ingridayarza Thank you very much for your attention. I imagined about time to change my string, its sad butt, its for the best. I was researching yesterday about the hair its says change every 200 hours of study approx. What string band do you like the most? Thank you again Sincerely Leandro

Nice review, amazing skill on the violin. However, we need to talk about your seemingly permanent violin hickie on your collar bone. I'm sure you are used to it now, but for those who are not in music / violin circles, you will appear sick or suspect. Please talk to a dermatologist about what can be done about it. You skin in that spot is constantly under stress and unable to fully repair itself. It will, over time, go from pink to red to purple to black. It will not get better or go away. You may consider a way to fasten w/ mild adhesive some sort of cushion on your violin on only the spot that comes in contact with you collar bone. I IMHO do not think it would detract from the sound quality of your instrument. A shoulder rest has no affect on sound quality (to really speak of, that is). Please consider talking with your numerous musical friends and connections about how they protect their skin when playing without a shoulder rest.
