For the second episode of Gunpla Quick-Fix we're going to cover how I go about painting pilot figures! It's surely not the only way, and most-likely not the best way, but it's my way! Let me know your techniques down below!

My favorite is Char/Quattro before Chars counter-attack. Because you see him evolve from a revenge seeking soldier to a man who wants the human race to prosper and save the earth. Also when he's Quattro he even puts his rivalry with Amuro aside and works together with him to stop the Titans. He's my favorite Pilot.

It has surprised me for over a decade now that people can paint Master Grades perfectly, and then they open the cockpit and there is an unpainted pilot inside. It bugs me a lot. Even when starting with just Gundam Markers, you can make a different with the helmet visor, seat belts details, etc. Once you learn how to paint, you can only keep improving :)

True, painting is a great step to improving and leads to more and more steps! However, I'm not as much of a stickler on painting the seated pilot figures inside. I've painted them when I know I'm gonna pose it in a way where they will show (MG Wing Gundam Zero), but if they won't ever show then I don't bother.

That makes sense. But if you plan to show the model with the cockpit open (like other reviewers or magazines), it is very cheap-looking having a greatly painted model ...with a chunk of white plastic inside piloting it. 12 years ago, I got into Model Kits because I saw a built MG Mark II (the 1.0 version) and opened the cockpit and saw the unpainted pilot. I knew I had to buy one and learn how to improve that.

Wow! Those Figures really look amazing. I would say my favourite pilot is Marida Cruz, because she's survived so much disturbing things and still shows some kindness after her many battles and her life as a sex slave and especially meeting Bangher Links. I really like her personality and she's piloting the badass suit of Gundam Unicorn, the Kshatriya. Also I am a huge fan of the Kshatriya and her Qubley. So yeah Marida Cruz is my favourite pilot.

My favorite Gundam Pilot has got to be Sol Ryuune L'ange from STARGAZER. He is someone who has been sheltered from war. When he witnesses it for the first time, his way of fighting against it is choosing to pilot the Stargazer; a mobile suit not made for war, but for space exploration. Sol, to me Sol is the first example of a true pacifistic Mobile Suit Pilot that I've seen in a Gundam series. It also makes the battle between him and Sven hold so much more weight.

My favorite pilot is actually Fellini. The bond between him and the Fenice reminds me of when I started playing the tabletop game Warmachine. My army started as just a simple battlebox that my brother got me for Christmas. I started to learn the game more, getting more models to add to it, and started to learn better painting techniques. Then one day while I was driving to a con my army fell off of the tray it was sitting in. My brother and I spent the first 6 hours of the con repairing my models. I didn't win many games that con, but in that army was the battlebox I started with and I will never forget the time me and my brother had at that con. Just like I will never forget watching Fellini's flashback about the Fenice and how much they have grown.

My favorite gundam pilot is Tobia Arronax, the pilot of the crossbone gundam X3 & X1 full cloth. Reason why is because he has a way of dealing with other Mobile Suit with unconventional methods and because his fighting style is really cool. (full on aggressive with I Field)

Also for me Char/Quattro is my favorite mobile suit pilot... He's the most iconic and mature character, and he's got the style and attitude that goes with it! BTW, great job at painting so small figures, man...

I have the Hyaku Shiki 2.0 and if my Quattro turned out have as good as yours I would be happy. Great tutorial. Also my favorite pilot would be Norris Packard from 08th MS Team. An Ace Zeon pilot and an all around noble guy in his self sacrifice.

My Favorite gundam pilot is Mikazuki Augus because he doesnt care about all the drama around him and just wants to get the job done as soon as possible i loved him even more as I watch some of the older series and the other pilots have their feelings hindering them in the time of war. He got me into gundam building because i bought the HG barbatos and now its my hobby and definitely got hooked with other gundam series as well

I know a lot of people might disagree but Im a huge fan of Shinn Asuka. I know he is a controversial character but his back story really resonated with me. I will always remember that first episode of destiny. His family got really screwed.

Setsuna F.Seiei. I started out Gundam during 00. Loving the concept on the character of how he could relate to the Gundam in someway and he's totally awesome,also loving all of his suits.

Love your quick fix videos. Bit new to gunpla and I was always afraid of painting the small figures but now I want to try painting them, also my favorite pilot would have to be Allelujah Haptism. I just finished watching 00 not to long ago and whenever I think about the series he comes to mind, I guess he had the most impact on me from the show from his crazy/sad background and multi personality.

My favorite pilot is Mikazuki Augus, you wouldn't see anyone else as savage as him. He may look like a child, but he fights like a proper soldier more than anyone else. If you happen to be a Gjallarhorn soldier and you talk to him? He shoves you with a mace when you're still talking outside the cockpit! On the other hand, he does cares his comrades, not by words, but through actions. On the other hand I do like Carta for how funny and honorable she is and Ein for how crazier and crazier he goes through his vengeance.

Char is the best pilot by far, he had the best motivation and character development over the show. I loved seeing his goals change from revenge to healing the planet to mass destruction. He followed in the footsteps of his father and become a great leader, a wonderful villain and all with a tone that he did really care for his men and wasnt a bad person deep down

I would have to say my favorite pilot is Carta mostly because of how much she seemed to care for her subordinates lives and IMO she has a great character design her hair being the part of her design lol

My favorite has to go to Shiro Amada just because he is the most believable as a person. He was to stick to his guns (his beliefs) and stay determined. This is something we could applied in real life. Another thing is he is just a regular solider and didn't have and special traits, just like any other person which we can all relate to a degree. Just raw skills.

You want to know who the best pilot is huh? Well that just has to be the Queen of Spades, Chibodee Crocket! The hero of Neo America, born in the streets and raised in the slums, Chibodee has unwavering faith in being the hope to the people. A true embodiment of the American dream, he's the Captain America of Gundam and an icon you can't ignore. Take into account his Maxter Gundam and the boxing gloves of pure awesome and you'll see he is king of this hill. Go Chibodee GO!!! P.S. Helps that he has his put crew to support him too.

My favorite pilot has to be Char Aznable/Quattro because he's one of my favorite Gundam characters and in works of fiction. Especially after seeing him in The Origin as well as Char's Deleted Affair manga where I see his rise to prominence in The Origin and when he hits one of his low points through his depression in C.D.A. really adds to what you see of him in 0079, Zeta, and Char's Counterattack.

Quattro (Char) all the way. I think HE is the real hero of the entire franchise, and not only because is a super-cool character, but because he condense at once the human struggle, the desire of redemption and the will to "make things right".

I've actually used something more from the wargaming side as an option for handling priming and painting them, rather than the clips and tack, just a bit of double sided tape on a large cork works well and means you don't need to grip the model while painting...

I've gotta go with the underrated Garrod Ran from X. I love how his motivations are so simple, he's driven by the will to llive and his love for Tiffa. It makes him very identifiable and easy to root for.

Uso Ewin From Gundam victory. He very skilled for being of one of the youngest person to pilot a gundam and has gone through stuff worst then most of the other protagonist in all of gundam. What I really like is that he has a very low kill count. Kira Yamato only tried not to kill in Destiny. From ep 1 to 51 he rarely kill even he was told other wises. Uso Mother and most of the people he care about died it front of him and with all this going on he never let revenge control him. Side note the relationship between Uso and Shakti always warmed my heart and they felt like married couple.

my favorite has to be trowa Barton, he is calm and calculating and absolutely ruthless on the battlefield. but he utterly hates conflict and will often show his compassionate caring side when he is allowed

My favorite character is Trowa Barton because he always keeps his cool when fighting or infiltrating, and his skills are high up there as well. How many characters can say that that they didn't let their emotions cloud their judgement? Trowa, whenever he was called out for being a spy was always able to stay cool and convince enough people that that's not the case. Despite watching lots of Gundam shows Trowa is still my favorite.

favorite gundam pilot is easily the nameless byarlant custom guy from gundam unicorn episode 4. just so cool! if i had to pick a named pilot though i'd go with judau. he reminds me of yusuke urameshi but as a gundam pilot.

Favorite Pilot has to be Bernie. Because I think his character had a lot to deal with and it was interesting to see how he handled his situations in 0080. Such as fleeing or staying to fight. Must of been heavy!

I personally paint the figures similar to Warhammer figures (but on a much smaller scale :) ) Favorite pilot would have to be Daryl Lorenz because of the way he pilots his mobile suits - Psycho Zaku! - and casually listens to smooth jazz despite all he's been through.

My favorite pilot is a tie between Amuro Ray and Kamille Bidan. Though I had to choose 1, it would ultimately be Kamille. They both are newtypes, but Kamille has all of the ladies, as evident in the last episode of Zeta, and his gundam's wave rider mode can actually be used as a weapon than just for speed, evident when he speared the O. P.S Amuro is tough, he can take a slap and still get up~

my favorites are Zabine Chareux and Char Azneble. As for Zabine' he was tactful, amazing at planning considering the way he had had the crossbone vanguard on his side during the coup d'é·tat in the manga. And for Char. he his an amazingly complex character. I find characters with what most people would call contradicting views as worth looking deeper into. I feel like hes a way of displaying how hate can drive a person with so much promise to extreme actions.

Excellent tutorial, I found it quite helpful! Can I ask why you use gloss topcoat to add the final details before adding the flat topcoat? Would it be very different in outcome if you used a flat topcoat, put in the final lines, and then added a second flat topcoat? My favorite pilot is probably Master Asia, because come on, how many pilots can destroy mobile suits ON FOOT? lol. No but seriously if we aren't counting the silliness of G-Gundam, I have always liked the original: Amuro Ray. He kind of started an archetype.

Emma Sheen in Zeta.First off, she's more a normal pilot. Her military-minded without a soldier cliche. She shows some newtype sense, but isn't anything superhuman ( not that I have anything against the newtype character, but they're more interesting as character outside of their being pilots). She's just a very level-headed, pragmatic, determined and skilled pilot, with clearly defined opinions and motivations that she acts on confidently. It's a simple thing that is so, rare in a field where characters all seems like they're limited to the extremes of being a cliche or some degree of eccentric. She's also an astoundingly progressive female character ( especially in a series that is nearing its 30th birthday ). Just all-round one of the most refreshing character in all of Gundam.

My favorite pilot would be a tie between Neil Dylandy (the first Lockon Stratos) and Gaelio Bauduin. They are the pilots that really struck me because I can somewhat relate to their actions and perception of the things going on around them. They have that introverted and happy-go-lucky personality, but once you get to know them, you'd see their serious sides and that seriousness reflects on their piloting style. Sadly, their pride and principles led to their deaths. This is only my opinion about them.

I’m like, 4 years late, but my favorite pilot would have to be Graham Aker. The dude’s so skilled; Setsuna had to resort to using Trans-am just to beat his Flag, and Graham could still put up a decent fight. He’s skilled, honorable... twisted but honorable, and idiotically honorable.

It has to be Heero Yuy for me. I live in the untied states and the first time i saw gundam or anything gundam related was Endless Waltz on toonami in 1998. I was around 5 years old and seeing the part where Heero contacts the enemy and tell them if their "shelter is secured" and disregards the enemies in front of him and fire anyways with a mostly damage wing zero custom was just completely awesome for me. Then this scene kind of launch me into wanting to learn more about him so i watch the TV series and he was a complete bad-ass for there on, no matter how many gundam series i watch, Heero yuy is still my favorite gundam pilot.

My favorite will be Kyoji kasshu/ Schwarz Bruder from the g Gundam series, at the beginning, you thought he is the bad guy but after all, he is the good guy who wants to save his brother, he will try and teach his brother many lessons and make him a better fighter, he ended his life just to save the world and make a better hope for the future......

i painted my mini figures with a finetip brush and acrylic paint , i think the colors came out fine and the finish come out as matte which pleased alot. you think it really matters what paint you use?
