unlike popular belief Woodleigh soft point in the 600 caliber inflict substantial damage superior to their counterparts the Woodleigh solid. these soft point run through 5.5 " of this media prior to expanding to double its oem size surely renders these soft point as the best choice when facing an angry elephant or other large dangerous game however, the 577 & 600 calibers are in fact a stopping rifles at close range & should never be compared to other calibers which designed to penetrate deeply such as the 500 nitro express... Holy crow talk about recoil!! I love the sound of a cartridge dropping into the chamber of a Ruger #1. Thanks for the video.

A factory 45/70 recoil is 31 ft.lbs. These are about 50% more ?

Such a badass moustache is complimented nicely by some badass rifles 😁 That ruger number 1 must be a good bit lighter as it absolutely looks like the more intimidating rifle to shoot as far as recoil goes.

Considering the 500 Nitro is dumping all its energy in a relatively quick fashion once it hits that would be the round i choose.

Avi who does your custom work on your Ruger N. 1s I am interested in doing a 505 Gibbs
@1tufgun4 жыл бұрын
J. Adam hi. Pac nor re chambered my ruger #1 tropical and my dear friend who is a master smith did the rest which is quite tough to make it chamber the 505 Gibbs perfectly so, I would search for one ready to go since it may be cheaper. I recommend you try one first if possible because RECOIL IS quite harsh. Avi

Have you ever tested a .50 BMG cartridge before?
@1tufgun10 жыл бұрын
Romeo. not at all since the 50 BMG is not a shoulder mounted hunting rifle and serves as a military weapon therefore its out of my league & not practical in regards what I'm working with however penetration tests were conducted by the myth busters which shot through a chevy blazer padded with 5 dry phone books each side at few hundred yards which encouraged me regards my penetration tests with my big arms surely have proven themselves worthy against any game on earth or beyond . regards AVI

I feel bad for your shoulder brother.
@1tufgun7 жыл бұрын
TT DE NADDA ABBA. thanks however, i was never in fact hurt nor abused by this rifle's recoil due to my way of managing recoil & with a new material called, sorbathain which elliminates the "sting" out of recoil motion along with learning to move with the recoil motion exactly as it occurs therefore I am literally unaffected by recoil energy. Avi

+1tufgun I noticed in your first video it was the other way around the 600 showed less performance with the solids and in this video it did better

You have to remember when you're hunting dangerous game in Africa you need a solid bought whether it's Jagged it or hard cast but the hard test must not exceed 20 or 21 brinell hardness jacketed bullets should have a thick jacket of .075 sickness or greater internal hardness should be of the same 20 or 21 again you're not going to get perfect shots you have to penetrate bone I have him also to penetrate deep any round any big caliber 45 or more what have you bullets work best between 1000 and 1300 feet a second most dangerous game in Africa or the United States such as moose bear or shot at close range remember is your danger range most dangerous big game can be up your ass before you blink and if you blink your dead you have no time for spanning bullets at range is 50 yards or less most are headshots if you do get a side shot you must break both shoulders to hit the spine to drop it cleanly if you anticipate longer-range shots of 100 yards to 200 then those rounds can go and a slightly higher velocity so by the time it impacts impact velocity at those ranges for the last 2 years are usually down to 1300 1200 1100 feet a second remember s 600 Nitro Express with a 900 grain bullet at 1900 feet per second has a 9000 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle
