The best part of helical head is that there is always at least 1 knife cutting the material, this is what reduces the chattering. When there a a space between knives the wood will bounce off the bed producing those terrible chatter marks. Curious if you get chattering with that jointer design?

Nice shop bud, excited to see how you change and adapt it going forward. Appreciate your honesty on the drum sander, seems to be a point of gear envy for a lot of folks. I’ve subbed, keep churning away on KZbin, you’ll get there!
