You can actually hear the sound by plugging in an earpiece

You can also get a tripod that isn't too big but can take the camera. Maybe a yongnuo vct880, comes with a phone holder so it's dual purposed. This camera has an inbuilt microphone too. But you can get a smaller microphone for a better sound. All the same you can go in for the Sony which is much portable and as you said you can flip the LCD. All the same congratulations 🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊.
