What is the swivel joint screws that you use in a lot of the moving components that look to be attached to stand offs. Our team can not find anything like those in the vex v5 materials? Those would be very helpful to our design?

Unrelated to the intake but I wanted to ask how you got the shooter of your robot and such angled so nicely. I know their are angle pieces, gussets and hinges and probably other ways you can angle things but it looks like a lot of your structure just involves shaft collars, screws/couplers, spacers, and standoffs. Did you just use these to angle the top portions of your robot? I've never seen this done before and I'm relatively knew to robotics and thought it was interesting, also would you consider a video going over general structure/chasis of your robot or of robots in general?
@606X Жыл бұрын
yep! by using shaft collars, we are able to achieve non-standard angles by using triangles with custom lengths on each of the sides. By changing the lengths of the sides of the triangles, we are able to adjust the angles of all the mechanisms on our robot. The shaft collars act as vertices of the triangles because of their ability to rotate as well as attach standoffs to them. Generally, the same can be done with C channels to form triangles to get custom angles as well. Many teams use this to get desired angles on flywheels, roller mechs, etc.
@thecheeseslayer2748 Жыл бұрын
@@606X Wow that's a really cool way to structure a robot. I wasn't even aware screws could fit through shaft collars before I saw your robots structure. Unfortunately it's too late for me to make much use of this info with my current robot though I am using it with my pneumatics and end game now. Thanks for the great videos man.

What was the reasoning for having the system using flex wheels rather than a chain with the rubber flap things?
@606X2 жыл бұрын
more grip, more compliance. the tank flaps don't have the suitable level of grip on the discs we were looking for.

Why is it so easy for your robot to pick up disks using 2” wheels onto almost a vertical polycarbonate? We always get stuck at the around 80 degree angle.
@606X2 жыл бұрын
try reducing the initial angle of the ramp, and moving the first stage of the intake further forward from the ramp. We found that these two changes helped a lot for us
@mingyangxu29482 жыл бұрын
@@606X Yes, I agree, but then the length of the robot has to increase. Your 2" flex wheels almost touch the polycarbonate. I feel something else than the two factors you mentioned also plays an important role.
