Thank you, Kate! I've been combining blooms with satin enamel for a while now. The thicker bloom paint isn't taken over by the se like normal paints but the se does give the blooms a lighter, more ethereal look that I love. ❤️🙏❤️

Due to where I live I cannot use resin on my pieces. What is the next best way to finish my art and get that finish of resin, but not the odor? I think this piece is gorgeous! I think I’ve watched every video you put out. Thank you

Thanks so much, Linda! The best low odor varnishes are the kind you brush on from Golden or Liquitex. You can safely use them inside and they have very little odor. I love the Golden spray varnish but it must be used (outside) or in a well ventilated space =(

Omg I am binge watching all your videos!! I'm in awe!! I am a newbie..just now collecting paints and canvases. My question is...the black satin enamel you coat the canvas with..is that straight Deco Art? And the mix is used as the activator?

LOL! Thank you, Suzanne!!! I have used the straight DecoArt satin enamel as well as diluting it with Artist Loft soft body black- can't tell much difference really. I mix that paint with 1 part Golden's 800 medium and 2 parts Floetrol. That is for the satin enamel base only. The cell activator is completely different. For the cell activator, I'm now using 1 part Amsterdam Oxide Black, 2 parts Aussie Floetrol and 2 parts U S Floetrol.

Wowsers Lisa!! I love everything you do but this one is one of my new favorites. Quick question, I was wondering if I can use my white satin enamel ( bc I don't have the black one) into my Blick black background paint? What are your ratios for the background paint? Does the satin enamel add the cloudy effect? Can you use latex house paints for the blooms? I see some contradictory recipes from other artist that is making me a little 🤔😕 well so much for the quick question lol thank you so much for your help. You certainly do inspire me😊

Thank you, Debbie! I don't know the answers to any of that because I've never tried it. The DecoArt satin enamel is pretty thin to begin with, so for the base, I mix 1 part paint, 1 part GAC 800 and 2 parts Floetrol. It doesn't have a cloudy effect with the thicker bloom paints but it does soften the bloom look and make it more ethereal looking (at least to me!)

Thank you, Susan and thanks so much for your kind words! Yes, you can use the Josonja in place of the triple gloss but it will be a much thinner mix. I've used it when I was out of the triple gloss and it worked okay- just thinner. Most of my resin videos are of me just covering my art. If that's what you have in mind, I recommend the Stone Coat Art coat. It's very expensive but has the longest work time, is heat resistant to 500*+ and has UV inhibitors. For covering art, it is far and away the best I've used. @Susan Weidman I usually mix up a little extra then what I don't use, I'll put on coasters or whatever and for a canvas that size, I'd mix up 6-8 oz knowing you have enough to cover the edges properly and a little left over. I don't do math...just guesstimate it! lol!😅👍💞
