Man I've been teetering on the edge of getting a Shecter Corsair Custom for literally years now. I want one so bad, but the one I want is about $1200. I'm also super interested in the Coupe in the dark emerald finish with a bigsby and filtertrons.

Thank you very much for your review. I have I think it's called the cherry burst (I love burst colours!). Totally out classes Ephinone. I love how you can tap the pickups. Such a beautiful guitar. But definitel, a Backbreaker it's very heavy. I originally had a different copy. Fell in love with it. But I have a habit of giving guitars away to people who need 1. Because they're sad. I just had to replace it this one is so much better. Got my original was a samick made in the 80s when they were in Korea. And they had very high quality QC. I actually bought it second hand. But the still looks brand-new. I got such an awesome deal. I was using my country's version of eBay basically. Get to watching the price drop and when it got 699 NZD just had to buy it. Originally it was $2,600 over here.

Is it easy to gget the split coils to work on the new pick ups?
@danielbell40072 жыл бұрын
@@toddshockley I didn’t set it up like that. But, yeah. Getting the harness in/out is the hard part. But any 4 conductor pickups can be wired for splits pretty easily.

Just ordered it- I have a Schecter Solo-II Apocalypse Guitar Red Reign, liked it enough to sell my Sheraton-II PRO and order this one. The feel of the Schecter C profile neck is what appeals to me the most.

I hate that they put the strap button on the upper horn instead of the heel. And bummed that they moved away from the Bigsby, but the goldtop version has got my eye nonetheless.
@shadowgear86664 жыл бұрын
That's actually a deusenberg trem, they sell them third party and i guess schecter either decided to fully rebrand it without consent or they have a deal with deusenberg
@ndtealmusic4 жыл бұрын
Schecter's not really of the "rebrand without consent" variety.

Have guitar prices gone up significantly recently? Four years ago I bought a new American-made G&L jazz bass. It came with a nice hard-shell case, a certificate of authenticity, and a checklist signed by the employee who had done the set-up at the factory. The price was somewhere between $1600-1700 Canadian as I recall. This new Corsair is made in Indonesia, doesn't come with even a gig bag, and retails for $1400 here in Canada. With taxes and a generic hard-shell case, it would cost about $1700. That's a lot of moolah for an Indonesian-made guitar. I used to think of Schecter as being a manufacturer of mid-priced instruments, but that's no longer accurate, apparently.

yeah, my patches were all built around the guitars i like at home that have pickups maxing around 9k. So anything hotter than that starts to get crispy

There's more affordable options that are of the same quality out there available, and not just on the used market. Nice guitar and I love the headstock on it but at best this guitar is a $700 guitar. You can get a Gretsch for a better price.

I like the vibrato. I'm glad they ditched the Bigsby. Why does it sound so awful clean in humbucker mode? It sounds great distorted and clean in split-coil mode. I like the color scheme. It could have easily become blingy, but they managed to keep it tasteful. I'm intrigued, but the price turns me off. $800 US and with a hard-shell case would be what I'd expect to pay for this.
@epiphoney24 жыл бұрын
Expecting a semi-hollow guitar with this kind of detail AND a hardcase for $800 is unrealistic. Not everything on the market should be designed for the Walmart crowd.
@spottedsaint9573 жыл бұрын
@@epiphoney2 not very competitive considering that a Gretsch of the same quality can be bought for $300 or $400 less. Not to mention the this guitar is made in Indonesia.
