Rush Limbaugh heard Bo Snerdley (James Golden) on the phone with a creditor one day. Rush didn't have huge fame & fortune yet. He called Bo into his office, told him that he overheard that phone call & asked him how much he needed. Bo told him $5,000 & Rush wrote him a check, a gift, not a loan. He told a speechless Bo that everyone can use a helping hand once in awhile. Rush kept his same employees for 30 years, unheard of in radio. Like a casino, the odds were always stacked in his favor and he knew it. There’s a reason he never ran for office himself. He’d have been forced to leave his friendly, controlled bubble.

I worked as head cosmetician of a Des Moines Walgreens store in the late 90's. I didn't want to miss a show and didn't like having to listen to the music the store played all day. I needed something I could chew on, so to speak. So, I bought a hand held radio to put into the pocket of my smock and wired an ear bud through a hole I had cut into the pocket of the smock, up the back of my shirt, wrapped around my bra, through my hair, and into my ear so that I could listen to Rush every afternoon. Nobody ever caught on. My hair was long and I wore it over my ears so as to hide the listening device. I loved Rush. He said everything that we were thinking. That's why he had such a huge following and such a great impact. He revived AM radio and pioneered the way for others in conservative talk radio. Rush taught me everything I know about economics, conservatism, and achieving the American dream. If there were only one take away from listening to Rush for nearly 3 decades, it would be how he spoke of taking the one thing you are really passionate about and finding a way to make money doing it. Getting up each day and going into the radio station wasn't work to Rush. It was something he really enjoyed. His passion and determination was awe inspiring. Even when he went completely deaf he continued to do talk radio. Mr. Snerdley would tell him when he was talking too loud, Rush being unable to hear his own voice, and the calls were captioned for him, which caused a little delay in his response to callers as he had to read their words off the screen. He never quit. He took a few days off when he got his cochlear implants, something that made his life for the most part normal again. The only thing that wasn't was his love of music. He loved Manheim Steamroller, especially at Christmas time, but music just wasn't the same with the implants. My children grew up listening to Rush... my Rush babies... and they are all conservatives as adults. Two served in the Marine Corps. Rush was an American hero, and his message will live on forever. He will live in our hearts forever.

The media does this with the words they use. We don't have a meeting anymore I've been investigate stories or instances of whatever. Today's news tells you what they want you to hear it. @@jesusenki8509 He paved the way for a dominance in conservative talk radio. So, he will live on as the king of talk radio that all conservative radio will follow. He has done more for conservatism in the last 30 years than anyone.

Jeff Day he definitely did and made over 400mil while doing it. You are correct about all you said. The question is if he left a good legacy or a toxic and fear mongering one? Same with Fox News...

Fortunately, the medium he spawned is still going strong. Charlotte's main news station is 9-6 political talk radio every weekday.

Thank you for posting this 60 Minutes. I'm new to Rush Limbaugh, and after really listening to some of his shows the last few days, I've become a new fan. And seeing your hit piece on him just proved him right and further validates my appreciation of his wisdom & sense of humor. PS: I'm a gay man, but I don't approve of LGBTQ politics. God bless Rush Limbaugh, and God Bless America.

I so very much miss Rush each and every day. Rush, the man the Left absolutely loves to hate. I adore him, his love of country, his patriotism, his love of American culture and his desire to keep America American. Haters will hate. He deserves none of the disdain thrown at him. Haters create their reasons. That's what they do. I miss Rush.
