Indeed, not only do they bring such obvious downsides such as those highlighted by 60 Minutes - they take away much too valuable time. In fact, teens on average spend 8.5 hours each day in front of screens, not accounting for classwork, with the overwhelming majority of that being on their phones. I'd argue that even if it does not 'depect' the specific acts that make it illegal, the teenager boys' motivation is specifically motivated by that act, thus making it an image of the act and is illegal. wouldn't the site be liable? They should be accountable for enabling what is essential child pornography. Edit: I understand and agree with the points made in response. However, the difference here is this site is specifically tailored to making people nude - there should be controls in place to ensure it is not used to make kids nude. Yes liability is ultimately in the hands of the user but the site should also have better controls. Even fake depictions of nude children should be considered child pornography especially if they are sexually suggestive in any form. The argument on guns/adobe doesn't match here because those products are specifically designed for other purposes (maybe less so for guns) and under that thinking almost any item could be used with ill intent.

Unfortunately it's one of those darker sides of humans. Like with Amazon. We all know the monopoly that has been created but we'll prefer the cheaper product as opposed to the small business and click next day delivery without blinking.

Years ahead, my friend warned me to stop uploading photos. Only gratitude to that one wise man. Those apps are everywhere now.
@laulaja-71865 күн бұрын
Many of us should have heeded that warning. I'm sure we all have some aunt or cousin who has been enthusiastically tagging all us online in all the family photos. "What, are you feeling guilty? Do you have something to hide? Get over it!"
@Leah_Newton5 күн бұрын
@laulaja-7186 well, he did throw out the warning many times...like only 3 or less of us took his words. It takes one wise girl to appreciate one wise man. 🤣 And you have to follow it through, so don't be an Eric Cartman! BTW, "stop using all social apps" was also his advice. "You can stop yourself from posting, but you can't stop others from posting. Then the only way is to remove your digital footprint at all." Well, he didn't foresee the SMS history to be hacked, but smart appliances listening in, he figured that out way sooner too. Also, front face-facing camera on phones, cover that up till you are using it...he did warn possible hack to the main camera of phone, but...whatever, as if people would listen.

@@Leah_Newton phones facilitating targeted ads is pretty funny sometimes. It's became a staple when you talk or write about something, and right after you see an ad. I think it goes a bit deeper. Was scratching my head because of this one for a while. I couldn't understand why I was getting dog food and toy ads. I don't have a dog. I never buy anything related. I almost never hear a dog, neither does my phone. Only thing I could think of is because I taught my cat to play fetch, so me goofing around with her when we play apparently sounds like a dog owner 😆

This type of behavior makes me sick. No one has a right to do this to a minor, & the lesson learned here is do not send your kids to public schools because not only do they indoctrinate youth with ugly politics, & pornography disguised as kids books, but they do not stop, prevent, nor punish those responsible for engaging in such heinous actions. Kids need to be protected.

Share this. Parents need to know what's happening with their children's pictures. DO NOT post pictures of your children. I know you're proud of your babies as I am mine but in this day and age, you cannot trust an innocent picture to not be manipulated on the internet. Stop posting them.

My question is , what would the school do if a student hides in the locker room and takes a video of their fellow students showering and upload that to the internet? I would think the consequences would be more severe, but in a way, what these kids did to these other kids is worse. Why is the punishment not on the same level. How do we protect our youth from this if schools are just going to slap the offender on the wrist?
