Everyone loves Ina! She is so gracious. I emailed her years ago (many) for advise about opening a gourmet shop. She gave me great advise. Later, when she was in Texas for a book signing in Dallas, she emailed me and asked if Dallas was close enough to get to for her signing. Who is that thoughtful??? Ina. I bought the autographed sets of cookbooks for my oldest daughter her senior year of college. She uses them every day in graduate school. If you are a fan, you just feel like she is everyone's favorite aunt, brilliant, accomplished, humble, kind and certainly talented. She has created a life that is a beautiful fantasy for most people. We love Ina! I'm so glad I just saw this so I can go online and buy the autographed sets as gifts for next Christmas for several of the people I love! I'm the Ina Garten of my friends and family, bringing people we love together and celebrating with great food, drinks, special linens, platters, glassware...where everyone feels relaxed and cherished. That is what Ina teaches me anyway!

As someone who cooks regularly for just us or for friends, I can say this with confidence - if you use her recipes, they always work, and they always taste good. If the only thing you did was learn how to make her roast chicken (which is extremely easy) and a couple of her side dishes, you're golden for whenever you need to make a meal for a few people.

Their relationship seems the ideal kind... extremely supportive of each other, chased their own career paths, a very strong friendship, and genuine respect for each other. The fact that they never had kids makes their relationship the more impressive. Most couples are held together by their children more than anything after a certain point of their lives. With them, it appears that they truly complement each other in every possible way. I don't personally them, but they appear to have a very idyllic life.

I didn't think that I could love INA any more than I already do, until I saw this candid interview! INA not only GETS US and what we're looking for in the kitchen but is not afraid to tell her audience "I'm not a confident cook!" Well Mrs. Garten neither am I and NOW I can feel okay about having to measure out the ingredients EXACTLY and can think "this is how INA does it"...and well that's good enough for me!

I wrote my thesis partially on Ina a few years ago. It’s hard to narrow down exactly what makes her special but others have used the words “calm” and “comfortable” and “accessible,” so I would echo that. Plus, she seems to genuinely care about the watchers and provides a gentle, guiding hand through her recipes.

I love her so so much. Certain things she says reminds me of my grandmother. Some times she sounds like my mom. I think it's because she's the woman we all wish would make us some roast chicken, listen to our stories, and kiss us goodnight, and we'd feel safe, knowing she's bustling around the house when we snuggled down under the covers. But also...man! What a role model! So freaking smart and successful. And a happy marriage? Again, love her.

About 15 years ago I was working at a job where celebrities of all types where regular guests. I had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people during this time but the greatest pleasure was meeting Ina Garten. She was the most down-to-earth, genuine person ever. I was a regular watcher of her show at the time and had seen all the friends she had with her during her visit that day on the show. I asked where they planned on eating lunch - her answer - I packed us a picnic. That's when it hit me that the person you saw on TV every week was the same person that was talking to me. She didn't just pack picnics for her friends on TV, she did that for them every day. I had many wonderful experiences during my 15 year tenure at that job, but none as memorable as the time I spent with her.

As far as I know, she rarely mentions her former career so for the majority of us, regardless of age, we know her as The Barefoot Contessa who has amazing recipes, wonderful cookbooks, and love her sense of humor. Have a healthy and happy New Year Larry.

I watched Ina’s shows religiously bought most of her books. It’s ina who gave me a love of doing up an elegant table when my friends came for dinner I would never have considered it before but coupled with her beautiful baking and setting it’s made me more adventurous in the kitchen. Thank you Ina, my mother taught me how to cook with 10 children it was comforting and basic but you taught me how to go that step further to make it a truly unforgettable experience

Really loved your visit with Ina. The only thing I ever made before age 50 was reservations, thank goodness Ina knew simple and straightforward was the best ingredients or I never would have been acquainted with anything but Open Table

I remember watching Martha Stewart and Ina was her guest. I ordered her cookbook soon after and have loved watching and cooking with her ever since. Her tv show is amazing and her books are wonderful. Ina and Jeffrey are so cute together and I think that it is great that she has included him in her show. Thanks Ina for being such an incredible inspiration to Ave FUN while cooking for friends and family!!!

I love Ina. Her personality reminds me of my own. Very likable but she has no idea why lol. Never gives anything personal away either. The most you’re ever going to get is a comment about how shy she is.

I love her she is absolutely wonderful! She is like an entire sunny day. Most of the people on Food Network now are impossible to watch. They really do want all the attention and they are so vain, and talk way too much about Not the food they are cooking. Ina is such a delight and a pleasure to watch, she is an amazon icon in my opinion, a true class act that cannot be replaced. Im glad she and her hubby are enjoying their retirement.

I know. My mind always goes back to the story of how Jeffery first saw her through the library window at Yale and said "Who is THAT girl?-- I have to meet her". Aww... I totally get his attraction-- especially if you imagine (see her photos as a sweetheart of a young girl). Wow. A precious female!

Ina is my favorite by far. I've loved her work since that very first cookbook. I always say that she's the only cook ive seen that I would eat anything she made, no questions asked. I use her recipes as a guide more often than anyone else.
