Of one goes by a moral code and truly tries to do the best they can certain things will become obvious. Like the thing that everyone should be treated equally or that everyone should be able to express themselfes through clothing freely. Those are not american values. They are universal values. Those are the kinds of things these journalists are trying to spread. A believe can be wrong and immoral. Just because people believe in something doesn't make it accepteble. The sharia is one of those examples.

Absolutely but if I go to China,I won't become a Buddhist. People also need to understand that.Women in Saudi don't know another life.That is why they stay.If they knew the freedoms they could have...let's not forget the pricesses who tried to literally run from Saudi.Many of your women dream to have the freedoms that Western women have and that is a fact.They follow American tabloids and newspapers,because they are interested.Many women marry within an arranged marriage to a relative.Aside the fact that it isn't healthy and it's just gross,it's not a love marriage.Your wives will never ever love you.That's why they bring a few kids into the world and then request a house of their own.Then you marry a 2nd wife.Nobody's perfect,but give girls the choice,a real choice and you'll see that 90% minimum,will not choose to wear a burqa,hijab and so on.

Because they demand freedom of expression without restrictions towards Arabs and Muslims, and they try to fuel this thing in the comments because they attack Arabs and Muslims. As for restricting comments to non-Arabs and Muslims, they do not want freedom of expression in their subjects, even if many oppose them, and they do not want to fuel hostility between them, and they also do not want it to spread among people so that they do not demonstrate and demand change. All of this is called political media, which has secret objectives that the general public is not aware of.

American culture : kim Kardashian! 😱Shoot me!
@MsSandhu9
@MsSandhu9 5 жыл бұрын
American culture is individual liberty. You are free to emulate Kim Kardashian if you want to (but only a minority Americans do). You are free to wear a hijab and pray 5 times a day if you want to (again, only a minority Americans do). But both these groups do it of their own free will. And this is the way it should be! Please stop your dishonest misinterpretation. Majority of common Americans do not emulate Kim Kardashian. And majority of them do not cover up themselves like women do in Islamic countries either. In my opinion, Kim Kardashian and Hijab/Niqab/Burka wearing woman are two extreme ends of a spectrum.. and I personally do not like over-exposure of bodies or totally covering them up either. Most Americans fall in between... and that is normal, healthy! In my opinion, by over-exposing or by over-covering-up you are over-sexualizing your body.. treating it like a sexual object, giving too much prominence to your sexuality... A female body is not an object that it needs to be either on full display or totally hidden.

This is a socio-cultural change partly driven by economic factors too. Saudi economy cannot continue to rely on income from oil as the industry all over the world is slowly beginning to make a transition to green energy. They can no longer have half of the population (women) not being economically productive, while in other nations women are increasingly entering the workforce. They can foresee that economically they will lag behind in the long-run if Saudi women don't enter the workforce. Of course, it's not practical that working women wait for other people (male members of family, or drivers) to always drive them around, hence allowing them to drive is a practical thing to do. Considering all these, the Saudis have decided to bring changes to their society. Hence, partly it's driven by necessity; not really a concern for women's rights.

I've never thought of it that way..... I wonder if the younger generation of women are rebelling against the control. If the vast majority of SA women are educated then surely they will start to demand the right to cultivate their own identity beyond wife, mother, daughter and good Muslim woman? I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be to have attained professional qualifications and then be stuck at home with babies if it's not personally chosen, but culturally imposed.
@MsSandhu9

@@nataliemccall7291 Saudi women rebelling? I don't think so. May be a few rare women once in a while! But the vast majority of Saudi women are well-tamed, quite brainwashed to "stay in their place". Their social/cultural laws are quite harsh. Also remember that sexism & patriarchy's enablers have never been solely men. Women have been almost equally their torch bearers, actively helping men tame the occasional rebels, shaming them, ostracizing them. In case of societies like Saudi Arabia where religious police enforces laws, women report such rebels to the law as aggressively as men do. I do hear rebellion among younger Iranian women (and men too). But Iranians have always been a different people from the Arabs - culturally, as well as intellectually. I think my assessment in my original comment is quite accurate... The granting of these rights to Saudi women stems more from necessity rather than a concern for their rights. A few days back, I was listening to a liberal Pakistani intellectual talking about this same issue. His assessment was incidentally also the same.

Inflation and money printing is the reason women have been brainwashed to work through feminism in the western world. They masked it as a way of them being liberated but they actually had to start working with the currencies getting more and more inflated. Before they took away the Gold standard the money was worth a lot more hence why majority of men could work and women stay home and take care of the children.

@@ifra99 I believe more like a change regarding the overall society. Don't get me wrong, I'm also muslim and I'm moroccan, we also still have lots of issues and some "forces" that might overtake over us if we didn't have a neutral kings on social matters (like your crown prince, God bless him), that being said they're more and more minor in our country, we just need to keep moving forward. It's not a matter of wearing a headscarf or not, a woman should be free to wear it, not "expected" (meaning there's an invisible pressure from family) to do so. Still, even the headscarf matter is minor for me, as long as it's not enforced by the state, it's fine, we need to give time for people to wear it or not. In Morocco, we have issues like authority over the children, it's automatically given to the father and his signature is needed even if we want to move a child from a school to another, a woman can't travel with her own kids without the approval of the father. But the dad can do all that without the approval of the mom, he can also withdraw money from the bank account of the child even if it's the mom who saves for him/her. We also have the issue of the marriage of minors, it's not like before but it still happens, we also need to address that and just make it illegal.

Did the guy say that it would be hard to shake up and “change the culture” in Saudi Arabia? Personally, I don’t think we (Americans) should be doing that. Like the sheikh said, the religious police have lost their arresting powers. Why not leave it at that, and call it a day? I don’t think it’s our place to go in there and try and destroy their culture. If they wish to change to their culture, that’s their right. But, I don’t think we should be taking an imperialistic approach.

As a Muslim woman that lives in the Arabian gulf, my point of view is that it is humorous that westerners think that Muslim women in the Arabian gulf need their help! Maybe you could use that free time to come up with solutions to the issues relating to women that you have in the west; rape rate, single mothers, domestic abuse, the need of infirmary, drug abuse, alcoholics, homelessness, women objectification and modern ways of prostitution that usually uses women that are in NEED for shelter(aka. they don’t really consent to it), STDs, women killing their fetuses to enjoy irresponsible sex with a careless random idiot, I could go on and on. Saudi is not perfect but compared to the west, if you make it your role model your country will improve at so many levels🤍🤍👌🏻☺️

No culture is superior or perfect . It needs reform time to time as society changes and the needs of society also changes . Culture and rules that was good in 6th century is not good in 21st century . People want freedom from everything, they want freedom of wearing clothes whatever they want , you can’t force them and make threats . All these culture , honour, is a metaphysical idea . Nothing is bigger than human life , not any religion , not someone’s so called honour or anything than people’s life . Individual choice , thought and decision is what matters . I know you guys won’t understand, here in india a lot of Hindus are also don’t want reform in the society but because of less radicalisation people are changing , they are now accepting inter caste marriage , womens right to choose whatever she wants to wear and things are changing rapidly . Cultures are for the welfare of people if it starts forcing people to do things against their will then confrontations starts . That’s why there are hundreds of Islamic terrorist groups have emerged and they are not only killing non Muslims but also their fellow Muslims. All around the world the reason behind chaos is Islam and only reason as far as I can see is unwillingness towards reform . You can call me islamophobic as many do but I am student of political science and I access situation without being biased . ISLAM NEEDS REFORM .

@@ShivamSharma-rr6tr Have you read the Qur’an or the hadith..I guess no..there are several hadiths that my family used to tell me when I was young that made me literally hate religion and even the idea of God. The problem was that I blindly believed my family. I think this is how we were brought up in eastern societies "Good children do not argue with parents about anything".. till I decided that when I grew up, I would go to a foreign country and become an atheist - of course I didn't tell anyone about that- what they said was completely illogical and violence was almost a prevalent language.. What kind of god is this..till by chance - although I do not believe in coincidences - for the first time I read the Qur’an with contemplation, not because my mother would scold me if I did not.. This time I really wanted to know this God.. I started my search almost three years ago, and let me tell you that most Muslims don't even know the basics about this religion! Most of the words attributed to the Prophet Muhammad that my parents told me are completely wrong! No wonder there is a hadith of the Messenger in which he says, “The thing I fear most for my Ummah is every hypocrite who speaks with knowledge.” And God said in the Qur’an describing the hypocrites ..[Al-Munāfiqūn:4] "And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up- they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy , so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?" There are many other verses and hadiths in this regard in which God and the Prophet warn against the hypocrites whom people will think of as scholars in the religion! and follow them with complete ignorance and blindness. Unfortunately, this is exactly what is happening now. Islam does not need to be reformed.. rather, it needs to be applied in a correct manner by those who believe in it.

We shouldn’t try to change their conservatism just because we don’t like it. Islam is a religion about Women's Modesty, Respect and Empowerment and not about Opressing Women. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) respects women so much in a way that he lowers his gaze when he is talking to women and always behaves respectfully no matter what. The NobleQu'ran also ststes that: if a Man is working wharever big or small he earns it goes to the Women and whatever big or small she earns it goes to her. This is the true respect and love Islam shows to women. The Hijab is the Most Precious and Priceless Gift to Women, a True Feminine Beauty of Modesty, Respect and Strength which never fails to Preserve and Secure a True Women Respect.
