Bill’s Coop- For obvious reasons, this is one of my personal favorites. rb.gy/px4rks This coop features a suspended upper house with a full range below, a ramp for easy entrance to the upper level. This design has my personal touches and I have had some clients throw wheels on it after building for easy portability.

Yes, consider predator protection, even in urban or suburban areas! Many things want to eat your chickens. It’s not only wild animals like raccoons, opossums, coyote, and bobcat.

I'm 2 years behind viewing your great videos but love the family aspects you incorporate. Gotta tell you, I start shivering when I see you working in all that snow. Live in south Alabama so don't deal well with snow, certainly not that much.

Love that you said it doesnt matter how many hours you invested into that chicken coop, it's therapy. I love working in our yard and can spend all day out there. It is therapy to me as well. But I have to balance giving time to family too.

Looks great. If you insulate it you will need to make sure it is well vented for the chickens. The other thing I recommend is if it is a wooden floor, put something over it (linoleum is good) to make it easier to clean. Like wise for your wall if you can find some pvc boards (used for making signs) use that on your walls. I would also make lift out nest boxes. Everything to make it easier to clean.

Buff Orpingtons are my favorite hens. They are really friendly, good with kids and heavy enough that they don't fly much. They lay a really nice big brown egg. I think they are really pretty. Your family would like them. Personally I enjoy sweet friendly hens.... maybe because my mother always picked wild squawky wierd ones.

Loved the coupe and I usually skip through more than half of other videos and put the speed up so they play through quicker, but you put just enough talking/ sharing in to give context to the video while speeding through the build so I didn’t have to, and also chose super calming music. Great content overall! It was such a nice watch, thanks for sharing! ❤

Appreciate your fast forwarding the construction - laughed at the inordinate time for your dog's toilet break - we all have trouble in the cold it seems. You are probably acutely aware after your ladder misstep, but If you are going to be involved in your house build, then please put thought into your safety working above head height. I didn't see the footings you made, but it may be worth looking at one course of bricks on a bed of mortar just to keep the timber off the bare earth? Great to see you re-purposing building materials the way you did. Well done.
