61 inch Turf Tiger 2 Review

Would you go back to a gravely? I have been thinking about a new mower but can't decide between this or ferris.

Late reply but I will be swapping back to gravely this year. Had tons of problems with my scags the past two years and my dealer has been horrible to deal with.

I demoed alot of stuff when it came time to get a new mower. Some were more ergonomic...definitely some more comfortable. But none cut like the turf tiger with that 61 inch deck. I cut everything. Tall wet...thick thin. It didn't matter. No clumps no bogging no bs. Thats why I chose it. The only other deck that even compared was the deere and even it couldn't hang.

@@kdr1048 deere 994r diesel. She was a good unit had alot to offer. Couple things I liked more than the scag. One being the seat. It just had more padding. 2 the bars were more ergonomic and sat up a little taller. Probably wouldn't be good for shorter fellas but I'm 6'2" and pretty heavy so ot was nice for me. Couple of things I didn't like. The diesel was no wuss but it definitely isn't the 37 vangaurd. It was also 5 grand more than the scag. Even if the diesel lasts twice as long i can but 2 more vanguards on the scag for that money. 2 the deck control nob is hokey and just reeks of cheapness. It definitely doesn't inspire confidence like the tried and true pull pin system. The deck was honestly equal to the velocity deck when dry. It was really a beautiful cut. Nice stripes and nice dispersion. In the wet the 7 iron is still leaps and bounds over everything else I tried. Except the velocity deck. The biggest factor in choosing the scag tt2 for me personally snd this is just where I live and what I have to cut was the hillside stability. The deere was just couldn't stay planted like the tt2. I low alot of slopes and the deere was just really begging for traction where as the tt2 was just sure footed and I felt safe. If I had to pick the deere vs basically any other mower besides the tt2 I would pick the deere every time. Including cheetahs and tiger cats from scag. But the tt2 just doesn't really have an equal in my opinion. The deere is a great machine though and it was very fun to demo the diesel

@@XxKnivesNGunsxX nice explanation! We run 4 deere 997r amazing mower but heavy in some areas we cut. Yes traction on some hills is sketchy but i have learned how to control it. Looking to trade in 1 maybe 2 of the 997r's and go with something different. Thinking the tt2 or maybe an exmark that I'm gonna demo next week. I mow about 80 house per week plus big commercial. We run 72 inch decks i want to go to 60 as the 72 inch like to dig into uneven area. But 7 iron deck is really nice! I need to demo the tt2!

@@kdr1048 the exmark was fine...but honestly I dont think the compare to the deere or the scag. I couldn't demo a 997r nobody had one for me to try. I wouldn't mind cruising around on one for a bit. If I'm not mistaken the 997 has a 38 hp diesel so that's gonna be more comparable to the 37 briggs. Id imagine its more Torqy than the briggs though. But boy are those 997s expensive

Cole's Lawn Care - I have a Grasshopper Diesel now but I have been thinking about buying a Scag or a Ferris. Have you tried a Ferris yet > I like the suspension idea on the Ferris. 3300 or 3200 models...

If you wont two gas tanks, you need to try tiger cat II its a lighter machine and they have a 61'' cut.

One tank is fine just have to be more mindful of fuel level

The tiger cat has a 61 in deck and also is light has two gas tanks and is cheaper

You nick picking this mower the Turf tiger is probably the best mower on the market and there is a purpose for the gas tank placement. I have had scag mowers for over 15 years they are the best in the business they are expensive but you get what you pay for.

@@coleslawncare284 what I'm saying is that that the turf tiger is the top of the line mower and it's very evident that you have not ran alot of the competitors of the turf tiger the 1 good point that you made was the cup holder they are terrible.

Michael I loved the mower and I just switched to scag. The overall cut was great the ride is no where near as good as the air ride seat I had on my gravelys but the cut was far superior and that’s why I made the switch to scag. IMO Gravely is way more ergonomic compared to the scags but the cut is WAY better on the scag. I just bought two scags because of how good they cut.

@@BigTader im about to buy one. I've driven them and i need one for the big 5 a re yards i cut. The only thing i like mlre than anythin about exmark/toro is the cut. You can't beat the cut

Tank placement is for stability . I own a 2019 model no regrets with it awesome mower .
