Another beautiful peek into your lives in the Hebrides. I have watched from the beginning of your journey with great joy, this land pulls my heart in a very physical way, it is the land of my forebears. Though I am a 5th generation Australian, my kin came from Skye. This comment really belongs to your previous episode about the passing of Gary the Heron. It bought to my mind a story from my childhood about my great grandfather. One of my great uncles was killed in a fall from his horse, in mountain country when his horse tripped and threw him. The horse died too. The story I want to share is that though my great uncle was buried in the usual way, his father, my great grandfather returned to the site of the accident, dug a great hole and buried the horse. He then made a stone cairn over the horse's resting place. This cairn is still there today, deep in the bush. I wonder is this a Scot's thing? Or just the way my great-grandfather grieved. Thank you for sharing your life in a place I may not likely to ever visit but is so dear in my heart💚

Q: Where does a 200kg Red Deer go? A: Wherever it wants. If your Red Deer are anything like our Roosevelt/Wapiti Elk, they look at the puny mesh fences and chuckle to themselves. Then they push it over and proceed. Yeah, like "naughty teenagers." You filmed in the allotted 26 minutes of sunlight this week, perhaps the flotilla of kayakers were chasing the brightness...? Enjoying the content, keep 'em coming. Cheers from the Willamette Valley of Oregon

Hi Katie, when I bottle my cherries tomatoes, I prick the tomatoes with a needle and I add some chopped onion and green and yellow pepper to it, and the liquid is a mixture of sugar, vinegar and water. That way I can drain the jar and just add some lettuce and feta cheese and have a salad ready. Because I am alone now, I use small jars that I can finish in one meal.

Well done with the progress on the track. Water will continue to be the challenge...just like the Deer! The seedlings are in their first year, it always seems to take them longer to appear when your excited about seeing them. However, the feelings of pride when they do take hold and become stronger plants is awesome. The window does look better. Regardless of its size, you two still have the best views.

You asked in the previous video about recommendations for gloves. HYFLEX 11-840 Ergonomic Abrasion-Resistant Nylon Spandex Nitrile Gloves. These gloves were recommended by a young couple who bought Jameswood Villa in Scotland, a ruin for sure, and who fixed it up over several years. Cal and Claire. He did nearly all the work himself. He loved these gloves and wouldn't use anything else. I bought my husband a pair, and he likes them also. Very durable and grip well.

Hello Katie and Scott, great video today, that was a nice looking can that's to bad that it wasn't able to be transported and used. Then but then looking at the island's walkways. It's not likely the car. Would have been able to be driven on any of the roads.Unless we the viewer's can't see them for privacy issues. Which is understandable. Katie great work on the window restoration It's looking good. Looking forward to the next video.

Great episode as usual so much to enjoy. Really liked how you have done the window Katie also all the daffodils blooming when you were walking to put the deer camera up. I was so excited to see the pine marten I’ve been calling it a bear marten and I was very excited to hear about your one eye marten, Martin who also moonwalks. Seems appropriate for this channel. Laughed out loud when sailing group turned around and have no doubt Scott has a reputation as caretakers and some others you mentioned in a pod cast. Next Scott will be swinging a loin cloth at the invaders.😋

I predict you'll get some amazing footage of the deer breaching the fence when you finally get it. Not long ago, I saw on You Tube footage of what must have been an 8 point buck wiggling under a very small space under a 5 bar gate! If someone had told me they could do that, I never would have believed it, but there it was on video....

The car was an amphicar, the one based on the triumph herald, they have there own clique following and are one of the more unique vehicles to come out of the UK. I think wheeler dealers have done a couple and 1 turned up at gas monkey, but they were a pretty good idea and based on the dukw idea of WW2. Love the idea this little old lady lived on the island and went shopping in her amphicar, now that’s cool.

punctured wheel barrows are quite easy to repair, just buy an ordinary puncture repair kit for a bicycle and use a couple of tyre levers like 2 flat headed srewdrivers or sppon handles to pries the tyre of off one side and take the tube out , find the hole and patch it. If you use scewdrivers just make sure you dont nick the tube n put more holes in it.
