Nor did I care much for the movies based on the original series. Just didn't. Only the original series appealed to me. As for William Shatner, he IS Star Trek. And always will be.*

@@user-fu9uj7gr4u Actually, Shatner was Gene Roddenberry's first choice, but he was busy doing another TV series at the time and couldn't get out of it: so they brought in Hunter. When Hunter didn't want to come back, Shatner became available and history was made. The executives also felt that Hunter's personality was not as dynamic as Shatner's, so they were happy to replace Hunter with Shatner.

@@stellarspacetraveler well we really did have some famous neighbors...we lived down the street from "Maureen McCormick" (her dad and mine worked some real estate deals together)...she was a bit older than me ... but she was a cutie... because we car pooled to that same school before she did the "Brady bunch" show...she had landed a part in a show called "Camp Runamuck" I remember staring at here in the back seat of my parents car thinking ..."wow I saw this pretty older girl on tv last night"...! Then she was privately schooled when she got really famous but her parents lived in that same house for 30 years...also "Danny Bonaduce" went to that school too...for like 2 weeks then when The Partridge family hit ... same thing... he left ... didn't have a crush on him though...😂

I agree. Star Trek refers to one of two things: 1) the entire Star Trek universe; and 2) The Original Show (TOS). The original deserves the honor to be referred to simply as Star Trek. None of this B.S. TOS.
