In this episode of the tiny lure challenge I compare a cheap tiny crank bait to an expensive tiny crank bait. The results were surprising!
Don't send me stuff!... but if you want to I'd really appreciate it!

i feel the best point that comes from this video is it doesn't matter if your fishing with $2 lures or $10, both will produce as long as they imitate the action of the food the fish feed on. Great video and keep up the good work!

The cheap one really had the advantage since you used it first. Some fish are FCFS (First come First Serve). I'd say have another session using the Snap Beans first and then the BPS lure second and see what happens. But, then again there are so many variables that can even change that result. This was a fun watch tho, that's for sure.

I know this comment is old, but that's kind of what I'm trying to dial in. Do I want it to peel while reeling, or only when they really put into it?. I seem to horse them in with 4lb fluorocarbon

Line twists they say is problem. On light line that is a problem as well as most the time… Fighting it myself on a bunch of poles I abuse. . Find out if it is. The better ya get the more ya learn, after awhile it won’t matter what others say, you’ll have a style and what ya like. Dude makes a good living pan fishing…is all I can say…about that. No question is bad fishing. No one knows everything. The globe is huuuuuge

@@JohnJames. I tend to run most of my drags fairly tight. It allows me to pull through weeds better. And I don't really feel the need to have the thing set so light that a bluegill or green sunfish can pull drag. Also, I've got a couple of spinning reels where if the drag is loose enough to let panfish pull drag, the drag will also slip when you cast. Not desirable. But you do want it loose enough that a bigger fish will be able to peel drag. Example: I was fishing a small community pond with an ultralight rod and reel set up with 4-pound mono. I've seen a couple of big carp in the pond, but almost everything I've caught out of there have been little green sunfish that were barely big enough to use as bait. I was fishing there one day, late afternoon/early evening, and a channel catfish unexpectedly grabbed the roadrunner I had been using. I didn't know that's what I had hooked at first. I just knew that it was big enough to pull drag, even though I keep it fairly tight. And he was pulling drag faster than I could reel. I let him have some drag and just fought him until I got him in. Had I tightened down the drag and tried to hoss him in, I guarantee he would have broken off and taken my lure with him. I got that lure stuck in the pond liner about an hour later. Switched poles instead of tying on a new lure because it was faster. Caught a few tiny greenies on a beetle spin. Last cast of the night, expecting to get nothing, hooked another channel cat. This pole was a light-action pole with 4-pound mono. Same deal. Let him peel drag until he got tired enough that I could hoss him in. Neither channel cat was more than a pound and a half. But either one would have broken me off if I had tightened down the drag.

I think lures have just gotten way too expensive for most of the name brands. It's nice to see the cheaper lures doing anywhere from close to "as good" or even "better". Thank you for doing these comparisons and not just pushing the more expensive lures as so many people do.

The hour difference in the time of day could have had an effect. I think it would have been more scientific had you put both baits on separate (but similar) rods and switched rods every cast. This would have put the baits through more similar conditions. Still an interesting concept though. Keep up the great work.

Bought a micro rod for my ice fishing reel for open water thanks to you.... Appreciate it :) I think the type of lure has more to do with the day (lighting, weather, water conditions) then it does the price. Also sometime fish are more triggered by one profile than another. Gotta fish the fish and not the things we like to do.

I catch a hell of a lot of fish on cheap jigs that Walmart sells in packs and also on a little spinner they sell. The spinner is a little green fish attached to a spinner rig it cost .96 cents. And the bass and crappies and green sunfish love that lure. Cost isn't as important as presentation of the lure and knowing where the fish are at. Nice video btw it shows people you don't need to spend a lot to catch.
