Based on the answers alone, I think Miss Philippines did a phenomenal job! I thought she was going to win after listening to her answer. "For me, being Miss Universe is not just about knowing how to speak a specific language - it is being able to influence and inspire other people. So whatever language you have, as long your heart is to serve and you have a strong mind to show to people, then, you can be Miss Universe." Philippines gave the WORST answer : popular with uneducated masses but closed-minded when one listens to it carefully. The comments from people who are not in the judging panel, unable to accept their candidates’ limitations are extremely tiresome & make the contest even less interesting. Miss Universe is first and foremost a diplomat who should have master at the very least two languages.

I have a kind of conspiration of why Philippines didn't win, and I think it was because they asked her the same question 3 times (2 in rehearsals, 1 in the final) and they wanted that she answers: it should be... I think that because, you also can see Venezuela's mistake and it could be a destiny signal to answer: it should be... I think that judges knew with certain that Venezuela would answer in English in final (and as we've seen her English isn't as good as her performance) and for that reason they chose Venezuela to answer first and in this way show to Philippines that English is important to be a Miss Universe.

In my opinion, when she (Philippines) said that "as long as your heart is to serve and you have a strong mind to show to people, then you can be Miss Universe", this is a wrong statement and if it was correct, then Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Angelina Jolie can become Miss Universe. We know it takes more than influencing and inspiring to become Miss Universe. It takes beauty, personality and relatability. Miss Philippines' answer is a textbook answer (we've heard this answer from so many pageant contestants from different versions of pageantry so this is no longer an original slogan). Miss USA on the other hand is bubbly and more relatable than the Philippines who is somehow contained within the pageantry standard. So Olivia won, not Janine.

This was Trump era and the requirements for Trump era is completely different from IMG As far as I have seen Trump era's Miss Universe are pretty polished and Princess type, bow down collected girl. Specifically when it comes to Evening gown and Intellectual skills Honestly what a conservative man expected a woman to be. And in IMG era the winner girls have more facial dynamics and a fierce aura. With more individuality Simply what a woman expected to be a Miss Universe. And I think Olivia Culpo fit Trump era And this may be why she's the winner

In a recent interview with the ex Miss Venezuela director, he confessed that before the final question the MU organization took all Miss venezuela’s belongings to the presidential suit of the hotel since she had the highest score so far and was the favorite to win that night. After her final question everything changed and when the show was over Miss venezuela wanted to change her dress to go to the after show party and she wasn’t allowed to do it. When she insisted to change her dress the MU person in charge had to tell that it was imposible because all her belongings were taken to the presidential suit of the hotel where the winner was at the moment. In other words “ you were the winner but you flunk it at the end and we had no time to bring your belongings back to your room”

But if I were to choose the winner based from the content and delivery of the answers in the Q&A round, the ranking should have been: MU - Philippines 1st RU - Australia 2nd RU - USA 3rd RU - Brazil 4th RU - Venezuela

5th - usa(doesn't even deserve top 5, stole the place of South Africa) 4th - venezuela(after topping the ss and eg rounds, she was a complete disappointment here). 3rd - brazil(her eg was 2nd best behind venezuela and even in q&a she is ahead of usa and venezuela). 2nd - australia(She was overall good, and even gave a good answer, only thing that bothered me was, she immediately went away after answering her question like kind of a rush). 1st - Philippines (she was the best in q&a, and here ss and eg performances were good too, she had the poise, stage presence, eloquence and confidence factor more than others).

This was Trump era and the requirements for Trump era is completely different from IMG As far as I have seen Trump era's Miss Universe are pretty polished and Princess type, bow down collected girl. Specifically when it comes to Evening gown and Intellectual skills Honestly what a conservative man expected a woman to be. And in IMG era the winner girls have more facial dynamics and a fierce aura. With more individuality Simply what a woman expected to be a Miss Universe. And I think Olivia Culpo fit Trump era And this may be why she's the winner
