We start this one off with a walk around history of ole gassey my 1998 Silverado k1500. Then we get into replaceing the broken window. Not a terribly interesting video but it was a job that needed done.

I know all about sentimental value👍🏻..i toyed with the idea of selling or keeping my old 97 F150 for 3or4 years..finally i realized it would be better off with someone else who could fix it..it was a hard decision to make but it was the right one..i do miss it tho..thanks for the video Dave👍🏻🍻🍻

I get it Lee. I almost traded it in once and backed out at the last second. Like I said it means more to me sentimentaly than the couple bux it would to anyone else.

Unless i suck at googling this was the only window replacement video i could find on these trucks, got to do mine soon its such a rusty pos the rail is completely rotted and if i roll it down all the way the wheel gets stuck in a rust hole and of course the a/c don’t work. Doesn’t look to bad of a job, i figured that whole panel had to come off.

Yeah I couldn't find another video either. There's a million of these trucks out there you would think there would be more.

You can flip the front of the glass downwards into the window slot and as you get it in there rotate it back to its original position sliding it into its guiding grooves

Appears the auto glass makers were making good tempered side glass back in 1998....you got a good break (dice) pattern on the glass when it broke. I see your replacement glass was manufactured by Vitro in Mexico.....thanks for the video.

Thanks for watching Geoff. Good to hear from you. I'm just happy that job is over, I put it off long enough

Where do you get your patience man! At least you don’t have to say like many of us: “I sure wish I had that back”.

I don't know bud because I don't feel like I am patient at all. I almost traded it off one but I'm glad I didn't it means a lot to me emotionally.

You will lose 2 screws! haha! I would say keep the old girl. I got a '99 Yukon with 373k miles with a puked tranny. Body and frame are in good shape and i can't part with it!

Yeah, I'll end up losing those 2 trim panel screws! I rebuilt the trans in this truck a few years back by watching videos on the channel transmission bench. He covered every detail you could possibly imagine. Wasn't too hard to do or too expensive either, even put in a shift kit while I was in there.

Cause I can. Besides I have some friends that like to see what I've been doing.
