Silverado 2004 driver side window replacement

Somebody broke my driver side window to steel my dashcam and some spare change. That was not my best video for sure. A thief broke my window at my night shift so i only sleep two hours before waking up and go to the scrap yard to get a window and install it before going to work at the same place again. I was really tired and pissed. If it helped some people,i am happy with that.

Same thing just happened to me last night, broke my driver side window this time at home, didn’t hear anything and they didn’t take anything, about a year back working at a Walmart store same thing happened at night. Luckily I don’t know who did it either times or I’d probably be in jail. Sorry you had to go through this even if it was long ago. Honest people getting their hard earned stuff broken, such a shame the world we live in. Already know how to change the window as I’ve done it before but still a great video. I like that you took the rubber trim out the first time I didn’t do that and it was a pain to get the window in.

The same happened to my 2004 silverado somebody broke the same glass on the passenger side the guy that replace car glass wanted 180$ but i went to the junk yard and they sold me the glass for $ 40 it was from a 2002 tahoe took me like 30 minutes to replace the glass thanks to you video lol

How is your glass not dropping at 7:55 when you let go? Or are your clamps already up that high? Im going to take my driver and passenger windows out and remove the old tint and re tint them. Came here just to see your method on finagling the window in and out of the door..

The rubber that is in the inside and outside is retaining it from dropping.There is enough pressure to hold it.

How is the window held in place? Did u glue it to the rail? What were thos 2 bolts u unscrew then tighten when u installed the window?

If i remember ,there is two clips that the window sits in and two bolts to secure it in the clips.
