I found that NC works (I got my ex back, btw) when a seed is planted in their head. When she was breaking up with me I was calm, did not beg, plead or cry. I was totally calm, but said, "This isn't what I want, but let me know if you change your mind. " Then I went NC. 60 or so days later I heard from her about something not related to our relationship... and a month later we got back together. While in NC I went to the gym, and was a different person when we met up. Work on yourself! You will be better off regardless of the outcome.

Think about it this way boys and girls, when you were with your ex you likely took it for granted since they were always there and always available to you. Now look how much more valuable they become when you realise you may never hear from them again after they dump you. This is exactly what we want to achieve but on the dumper instead and since right now they hold all the power, it will take longer for them to start to feel that way too. Everyday they don't hear from you, your value to them increases.

And you probably always will think of her. 5 years is a long time. Make a list of pros and cons of being with her. I did with my ex of 4 years. The con list was 6x as long as the pro list. If it was meant to be, she would still be in your life. It freaking hurts, but one must find the strength to move on. Keep busy. Date other women. It will get better.

Same here! My exfinance broke up with me eight months ago. We talked on and off since then to take care of business concerning the pet and my personal belongings. But overall, I’ve been in NC. I have also dated as well. And I don’t get excited at all over the women I meet. I think for me it’s because I’m still healing. Hopefully over time, it gets better. Hi Rory, after being in no contact for 6 months finally she approached me, not the way people usually do but she did, she commented on my Facebook post I've written about Mia Khalifa and her love life that if people truly love they will leave their past behind and will change themselves for you, it was a little longer than I can write her, though her comment was like she literally typed look who's talking, I know it's negative comment but she breaks the silence I didn't, I didn't respond to her comment I ignored it totally and she deleted it after couple of hours, so finally she contacted though I'm feeling like I'll be in no contact for long, I'm not breaking this awesome phase. Feel he's the one implementing this even when he said he would still be there for me after the breakup... Coach, I think you must be psychic. This topic has been nagging me all day. It's been 3 months since I went into NC and in a few days, 7 months since the breakup. I haven't heard a peep from my ex. We're following each other on Instagram, but he never likes or comments. During this whole time he has only looked at my stories 3 times. I always worry that what is happening is more of an "out of sight, out of mind" scenario. I'm no coach, but I'd say that since you told her to call you when she changes her mind. Then it's agreed upon that the next time she contacts you it would be a chance for you to meet up. If she denies your defiant date then go back into no contact. Hope this helps.

During 1 month of NC she reached twice and told me she loves me, misses me and how much I am important to her. But she also said that this is the right call for her. On these 2 events I didn't tell her that I want back, only that I do miss her too and I respect her decision. Hey Rory! So this is the second time my ex has reached out. We broke up a little over a month ago. The first time she reached out was like 3 weeks after the break up. We got Starbucks and she brought up the relationship. She said she wasn’t sure if we would get back together, she then followed with “ I don’t think we are getting back together”. At the end of the night she gave me two of my shirts in a box that we would pass to eachother with little care packages but she said that she had kept one of my shirts (it’s a matching shirt we both have). This was last week on Wednesday, we talked the next day for a bit and that was it. She contacted me again this Wednesday to tell me “happy Halloween 🎃” and “I don’t know if you’re gonna do anything but if you are be careful and have fun”. We talked throughout the day and it went pretty well. I asked her out the next (Thursday) for us to hangout on friday(today) but she said she was working and also said “sounds really fun, sorry I can’t make it”. I replied with “that’s alright maybe next time” should I have suggested another day? And should I?? Or do I wait for her to contact me again?

I forgot to mention that the night at Starbucks when we were leaving I walked her to her car opened her door and put her stuff away and that’s when she gave me the box. We then walked to my car and I put my stuff away. I turned around looked at her and she came up to me and hugged me. We hugged for a good time and we both started crying. Talking about how we loved eachother and how I was sorry while she wiped away my tears and I wiped hers. We told eachother that we loved eachother and then I told her “just promise me one thing... (looked her dead in the eye) promise me that you’ll let me know when you’re ready.”(because she had mentioned how she wasn’t ready) and she nodded yes. I walked her back to her car, we hugged again, she gave me a really warm loving kiss on the cheek and I kissed her back, and then I told her that I love her and that was it.

It depends on how long you guys been together and how effective you impacted her life. If she was at fault, then no contact should start working after 2 to 3 weeks and will start to drive her crazy going to the 4th week, realizing that a part of her is missing. But if she cheated on you, fuck her! You want to find someone who you dont have that problem before putting a ring on that finger.
