620 film: How to modify 120 film for use in a 620 camera

Hi, I reduced the diameter of the 120 spool on my lathe,( with the Film on, secured with a rubberband). By very carefully and slow cutting the rim on the spool off, the diameter is ok. From 2 short brass tubes I made adapters that can be put in the to big holes on the spool.

Yes, I used to have a lathe which I'm sure worked very well for you. One could also use a bench grinder too, I suppose. I like what you did with the brass tubes, great idea!

Another problem exists that you didn't address is the difference in the size of the holes in the spool ends that the film rotates on,120 is much larger than the 620 ones,this could cause a jam,cameras that take both 620 and 120 have a tapered axle.

Tony, you bring up a legit point., and to be perfectly clear I should have emphasized that your 620 camera MUST HAVE A 620 TAKE UP SPOOL. I've not had a jamming issue with my limited experience, but I just trimmed down several rolls to shoot through the cameras in the video. If it happens to cause an issue, I'll be certain to address in a future video.
