hi neil Just catching up, great addition to the mill, i need to do the same with my cheapo tawainese mill, it may be a cheapo but it's done some serious work on my loco, but i always find trouble with not being able to lock the spindle while changing tools. Cheers Kev

Well worth doing Kev. There was one one my little mill and I think I would regret not having one on the project mill.

Sounds like your going down the route that I have. Mine is a Tom senior. But done many mods inc the Wiper motor x axis that many on a forum i am a member of said would not work. But it does & beautifully. Also i have done the Z axis with a cheap to me £137 x axis drive meant for a Bridgeport. If you get a moment have a look. I have posted lots of mods done to the milling machine & the lathe. I am like you. Think outside the box. If i had taken any notice of what folk say I would have never built the garage & workshop. They said it would fall down & collapse if it snowed hard. Mmn. Regards. Steve.

I'll go look for those videos and see what you have done Steve. Two common comments that we come across " that wont work" and when it does " you clever tw#t" 😂😂

Have a link or model# for the LED light kit?
@NellsMechanicalManCave Жыл бұрын
Hi John, there is no model or kit. I simply removed the capsule bulb ( small bulb with no metal cap just 2 pin connectors) and replaced it with a led ceiling spotlight unit (MR 16). The original reflector remained in place but I had to file away the base to allow the MR16 to fit through and plug into the original fitting. The glass isn't needed but the spring ring was used. As far as wiring, I located the cables leading to the spotlight and connect them to a 12v LED driver with was then connected to the mains supply inside the Mill column. I think the whole conversion cost about £10 ($12 US) Hope this helps. Cheers Neil
