Hurricane Zeta just blew through and caught us on the strong side. We stayed with my parents the night of the storm. Their house got some damage to the roof from a very large fallen oak limb. Other than that their home fared OK. The yard was trashed though and dad's home bee yard was devastated. We picked up all the boxes the day after the storm. Six of his colonies were still living at that point. It is yet to be seen if any will survive through fall.
Ceracell Beekeeping Supply company of New Zealand sent us some of their new bee jackets to demonstrate for you. They worked great and I didn't even get mine dirty. I'm not sure when Pete will get his. It's almost winter here now and hive removals are few and far between. You'll see the Ceracell rounds in a summer video in 2021. Don't wait for our demo to get your own though. Hit their web site and get some new equipment that will more than pay for it's self in short order. Turn your honey into some real money.
Our house got minor damage to fascia. We lost a couple of trees and the roof off a shop. The yard was also trashed but we're all good. Hope everyone else is doing well.

After watching your video showing downed trees and the strength of the wind as the storm was going on, I'm surprised the Weather Channel has not contacted you to start reporting for them and shooting video. Ha....The Weather Channel...what a joke. Another one of their reporters (don't know which one) was caught 'faking' the severity of the storm. I saw a video of it about a week ago but don't remember how I got to it. Not saying there wasn't damage, obviously, but the guy was crouched down and bracing himself against 'fierce' winds when some random guy in the background casually walks through his shot like nothing...lol.

We’re on Three Rivers Rd up by White Star rd. We had trees down but no major damage. This storm was worse than everyone expected, hate storms at night. Glad you’re ok, and can get your bees sorted! 🐝

Stay safe and keep up with Dad. The aftermath can be hard on us old folks. I don't miss it. I live for years a couple blocks off Galveston Bay and got flooded out like three times one year. I remember the hardships for weeks after a hit, so you all take care. Congrats on the Comic Book. They did a good job on illustrating you.

I was so thrilled to see your pops up and about. He has been in my thoughts and prayers for the past several weeks. Such a shame about his bee yard. That was a hard hit, but it will recover. His health is much more important right now. He is so fortunate to have his family so close and able to step in for him. Keep the faith!

I started watching you channel at the beginning of Quarantine, I have found you to be informative and fun to watch. I am planning on getting into beekeeping this next Spring. My stepdad is building me a couple of Top Bar Hives. Today I finally reached your most current video, what a journey! The last couple were full of ups and downs, I would like to touch on a couple of points. 1. Glad your dad is doing better, prayers that he continues to heal. 2. Wow what a terrible loss in his Bee Yard!, fingers crossed those hives that are left recover. 3. Can't wait to see what the future holds of all of you and your bees. Randy, 3 years ago we had a hurricane remment come thru NC and it pushed over a big pecan tree into the middle of my 15 hives. It was devastating. I got a few nucs up and going but could not get the tree out to recover anything more. Fellow beekeepers came by that saturday with chain saw unannounced to help out, wow!. Beekeepers are great folks and that is why we stay in this hobby - for the bees and the good folks we meet. Best wishes to your Dad and all yours!

Glad your dad is doing better. The winds can do some terrible damage. The best part is you all made it through without harm. When Zeta came through here the winds had died down to 55 so it wasn't as bad. I had tied down the hives prior to Zeta's arrival and had no hive damage. It blew some fence down that wasn't too bad. You have plenty of pine straw for smoker fuel now. Thanks!!
