Hi, Titus. The things that I love about this video are: 1. Your comment that different styles of painting are like different languages. That is so helpful. It helps me explain to both myself and others why it takes effort to learn new styles. 2. I love how bold you were in cropping the left-hand building in the first painting. Your thoughts on the composition process encourages me to be similarly decisive, after stepping back and considering a work in progress. 3. Painting buildings is my comfort zone. Your reminder that painting buildings can so easily result in flat boxes, is always worth keeping in mind. 4. I wish you every success in one day being able to travel abroad to interview artists. I'm certain that you'll achieve this desire one day. Your relaxed interviewing style is truly endearing and will draw even more people to your channel. Thank you for putting the time in to share your life as an artist with us Licht komt terug voor kunstenaars nu de lente terug is 🌞 Please forgive my Google Translate Dutch.

I was surprised and happy that you were so excited about your splatters on paper. I’m always better pleased with the scrap paper I use to test out colour mixes before applying them. The free and random marks, colour mixes and overlays are so much more how I would like to paint, and has prompted me to do flowers in a free and random way as my overworked and strictly representational way looked terrible and was not giving me the feeling I get when enjoying flowers! I’ve ended up feeling that every watercolour painting should at least begin with paint freely applied and allowed to do its own thing with minimal control from me. Like in your marching bands! I particularly loved those.

Happy accidents are a staple of all artists. Unfortunately one cannot force them. They are accidents that work in your favor within a work. It is the miracle of being free, experiences, and in tune with your process. Enjoy them when they pop up.

Coincidences is our presence, it is very essential to see coincidences in the state of presences. When you are not able to see mistake as presence you might be strongly focus on one successful way to reach the certain results that you already expects. Great wisdom behind it in lot of context.. Thank you for that give away.

I am totally in the member section as you offer already so much more than other artists. If possible, I would love to see your conferences with subtitles in English. That would be a huge learning experience for members. Great work. I love your channel more and more.

Thank you. I will keep that in mind. Have already thinking about something like that.

I would love to see in the members section copies of your photos so that we too can practice this kind of painting. The buildings where you live are truly incredible. Also maybe some sceneries with or without buildings would be awesome. I have no chance of going to your country but it would be a great way to be there with you. I know I would love to practice some of those subjects in my own studies.

Thanks, yes I will show the photos as well in those videos.

I'm in. Why not try using more color. I have thought many times how much more color you are using lately. I'd love to see you try a floral.

I remember you saying that you no longer deliver your book outside of the Netherlands, do you sell it in books stores in the Netherlands because if I ever visit that's one thing I would want to bring back with me.
@TitusMeeuws7 ай бұрын
Hi, well I am delivering it abroad again. I have had lots of trouble with delivery services so I didn't want to send it for a while. But if you wish to have yours, please send me a message through the contactpage of my website. Thanks!

Looking at your beautiful work, I notice that you have drawn the Mauritshuis higher than wider, while in the reference photo it is actually wider than higher. Are you doing this on purpose to get a particular effect? By the way, this is by no means meant to criticise. For that, you are completely free to make what you want. I'm just trying to learn from you.
@TitusMeeuws7 ай бұрын
Hi, I think the Mauritshuis actually stood in my way, even while I didn't notice it yet. Once the painting was done and I saw it from a distance I noticed it had become a huge brick in the composition. Maybe that's why I made it smaller.
