Oh you should have a look into container carrier engines. The MAN B&W 5L90MC for example. About 16000 L engine. Bore is 90 cm, stroke about 2,5 meters, 5 cilinder crosshead two stroke diesel. Max 73 rpm. And it's not even the biggest out there.

Multiply the moment of inertia for both the conrods and the crankshaft by some large number. But not too high or the engine will rotate too easily. I just used trial and error, but there's probably math you can do to figure out what the moment of inertia should be, but I don't know it.

also this engine timing is not good. it is barely good enough for it to run. for example the intake is opening way too late while it is fireing a bit too soon too.

@@hopelesssoap well that is because it is "stable" at the moment and changing timing is hard with engines like that because you have to conside the unusual long travel distance of the piston. that means theoretically the intake should be longer open (from the moment the piston goes down almost until it is completly down) and so on. that would require a different shape of the camshaft and good luck fine tuning that.
