STO has to go at least 8.5 secs faster than the Performante with the same engine and hp to beat the production car lap record. With the kind of changes the STO has gone though since the Performante, my money is on the STO.

The "original non-audi 5.0L V10"? Please do explain. The 5.0 V10 in the original Gallardo WAS an Audi group engine. Audi purchased Lamborghini in 1998, The Gallardo was introduced in 2004.

@@abagnalejr123 The even fire 5.0 V10 was built by Lambo at the Lambo factory, and it is not found in any other car. What people mean is that the 5.0 was a Lambo specific engine built by Lambo for Lambo. By your analogy, the V12 in an F12 is a Chrysler engine. All 5.2's are built by Audi at the Audi factory, and is the same engine as found in all Audis with a V10. McMartin is correct, while the original Gallardo was a VAG car, it was not a car that shared much with the R8. That changed with the introduction of the 5.2, and when the Huracan was introduced, much more under the skin became shared with the R8.

I never trusted Lamborghini's lap times anyway. Even the Performante and SVJ lap footages looked very wrong. Even if they do break the record AMG will bring out the Black series and go for another attempt since the conditions were far from good when they claimed the lap record. And also Porsche is about to announce the new GT3 and GT2 RS which will definitely be fast as hell.

For 20years the Lambos was very nice cars,but not so fast in curves and not realy save very hard to drive fast with a old Lambo!! Today there are very cool nice fantastic optik and there are very fast good cars for street and race tracks!! Gratulation Lamborghini! But that you will behind 2025 only "hybrid cars build! Er wird nicht ein mal den BlackSeries überholen. Vor allem hat dieser noch Reserven, da er auf kalter und sehr nasser Rennstrecke den Rekord gefahren ist. Folglich hätte er auch den Rekord vom GT2RS MR gebrochen, wenn die Wetterbedingungen optimal gewesen wären. Der Project One wird alles in den Schatten stellen, was eine Straßenzulassung hat.

@@Raptile07 Ich bin mir gar nicht sicher ob der One wirklich viel schneller ist. Beim Black Series hatten sie schon bei der Runde Probleme mit der Reifentemperatur also wärmer dürfte es nicht werden. Wenn es trocken ist, ist da auch nicht mehr so viel zu holen (vielleicht eine Sekunde). Aber ich denke mal der One wird definitiv schneller sein, wenn auch nicht viel. Ich bin mal gespannt was Porsche so bringt.

@@Raptile07 Ja und ? Der Preis sagt ja mal gar nichts über die Performance aus. Gerade was Reifen betrifft ist der Black Series schon ziemlich am Limit. Die Entwicklung von straßenzugelassenen Reifen ist noch nicht so viel weiter. Ich denke unter 6:35 ist auf jeden Fall möglich aber nicht viel mehr. Der Reifen ist da echt der limitierende Faktor. Man hat ja keine Angaben zum Gewicht. Ich denke schneller wird er sein aber die Reifen werden ihn zu sehr einschränken.
