I listened to some "new" proposals from the Government. Limit to 65/70mph. OK, Electronic readout of EVERYTHING to do with the truck. (sounds like good idea to go wrong). More parking, now that makes sense.

Got shut down at that scale one time. The officer could have nailed me that night when I came through but instead he told me to park it and come back when my logbook caught up to me in the morning……hahaha Stay safe out there!..

back in mid-90's I met a flatbed driver...he said he flunked "Tarping 101". sloppy job...he was stopped at this scale, and log book violation...about 250 bucks back then...I guess electronic logs are the best answer to this issue. Thanks, Dan and Baillie.

When I worked for a flatbed company if the paperwork did not have tarp instructions I would use my own judgement, because if you ask dispatch or the shipper they would tell you to tarp if they were to lazy to find out. I never saw a good reason to tarp steel that was laying out in the weather all the time. What's the use of tarping it now? But they would want you to tarp.

I notice the tarps are always rolled so you don't unroll them down the center of the load but on one side or the other. There must be a reason for it, but as a reefer guy I have no idea why. I'm sure one of you flatbed guys have the answer.

The tarp is folded in half, so he is putting that fold of the tarp on the center line. When he unfolds the tarp it will be centered.
