I'm on SSI, I have MS and cannot work. A few years ago, the home I was renting got sold while I was in hospital. No one offered me a bed for 30 days, or even a week. There were many other people I met who were also living in their cars or worse on the street. Lots of the people I met also had jobs. I met many Veterans and also several families with small children. We can't even solve our own homelessness problem, people from other countries who came here illegally should be deported. They came here because they knew they could, and that we weren't doing much to stop them. As long as there are Veterans, children, sick Americans who are homeless, we got no business helping illegals!!

Amen to that. An illegal woman with 4 kids(one of which is an anchor baby), begs outside of my church for money but is too proud to go to the soup kitchen. The kids play on their smart phones while she uses their presence to get more money and sympathy, but she gets angry if anyone sends her to an aid office. They know exactly what they are doing. Meanwhile homeless Americans are looked down upon especially if they are white. We need help too but they are somehow priority and they aren't even our responsibility.

Nobody will help, but the illegal having anchor babies for sympathy gets prioritized. Yup, and don't come to Canada as it is even more expensive with even less jobs here. But yet they keep rolling in and freeze to death to be poorer then they were where we go to vacation.
