Beautiful truck. Love everything you are doing to it.

Thank you. I really appreciate it, it's taken some work to get this far.

Beautiful pickup with an excellent stance and proper amount of lift in my humble opinion. Excellent choice on the axles. I've driven a million miles on those TTB axles and never had a problem with any of them. Would I replace them with a solid in a new build? 100% I would, LOL. I'm a steel wheel guy myself for the past 52 years. The '79 F26 I finished last year has 10" x 16" black steels and my '71 F26 (frame off resto) I'm finishing up will have them in white. I like how you kept 1/2 ton springs in front, hopefully you did in the rear as well, much better ride. Now, if we could just add two more pistons.....

@barrynelson634 thanks for the comments, I have to say I'm not a fan of the TTB, cutting edge for it's time but I prefer the strait axle, which is why I swapped it. I know, there is a large group that loves the TTB. The rear springs are 3/4 ton, 5-6 lift, front are half ton not much needed to hold my 300 straight 6. I do want to use this truck to haul and tow so I wanted heavier springs in the rear. Also I love the 300 straight 6. Steel wheels are something I've started to appreciate more and more the last few years.

Beautiful truck love the color as far as wheels and tires they look great on the truck I have steelies on my 70 gmc I found my tires from interco correct a/t tires

@brendaberrones2504 thanks, I really started liking more plain steel rims the last couple of years. It's challenging finding a classic 4x4 tire, specifically in a 36. I would really like an old set of ground hawgs, I see they brought them back under a different name, but there are not many options on size.

Coming together really nicely, love the height I think you nailed it just right!

Thanks, I was definitely measuring everything out prior to the lift. Even then, sometimes you just don't know how much lift you're going to get from certain springs.

Is it just the angle of the camera or does it have an ever so slight Slant to the back? Like I say could be the camera and if it is sloped lower in the back it is a super small amount? I know your on a tight budget but can't believe how great it looks.
@danachick68989 ай бұрын
@goleafsgo8496 The back end is a little higher then the front about an inch and a half, if it wasn't I would have done 1" blocks in the rear. No squated truck here.

W\what Brand wheels are those you have on this truck? Looks Good!!
@danachick68986 ай бұрын
@nellaob4229 they are just some old 16.5 x 9.75 steelies I painted up. I found them on marketplace it was a tad bit of hunting to find a set.
@nellaob42296 ай бұрын
@@danachick6898 I was thinking about buying a used set of Hurricane wheels that are 16.5x9.75 - then I went to look for tires and there is only one maker that even makes 16.5 tires now, so the tire choices on 16.5 wheels is almost zero now,..... bummer!
@barrynelson6345 ай бұрын
@@nellaob4229 I would recommend going with a 10x16" wheel. Summit carries them and you can also get them through Coker Tire and Wheel, US Steel Wheels and Detroit Wheels.

Where did you get the wheels?
