This bike needed some going over. So, we made a new fuel line, installed an original seatr with all of its original hardware, went through the clutch and mousetrap system and installed a new fork lock.

It can be kinda tough sometimes when reading a manual to translate from Engineer-ese into Mechanic-ese. Those manual editors are engineer types, not mechanics, that's for sure! :) You are 100% right about the hand grip size thing. I bought an XL1200 Low that had super thin grips for really small hands and my fingers cramped and my forearms pumped up like I was riding an Enduro, just going to the store. I put some extra large Avon memory foam grips and have not had a problem since. But they don't look nearly as good as that set of leather covers that The Art Department made you. That is some primo leatherwork!

Thank You. I am fortunate. But, not to difficult to wrap your grips, especially when you have piano players fingers.

Those grips are soooo cool!....I appreciate the craftsmanship...and being an old carpenter of over 50 years, I get the sore, beat up hands.... arthritis is no friend to us old guys 😊

Like the grips! In 92 I sold tee shirts at Sturgis. I let a leather man named Big Al share my space. He gave me a pair of grips with the long streamers. I may just have to find where I put them, put them on,and trim the streamers to relieve my tired old hands!!

Man what a sweet bike. Pans are my all time favorite. But hey Mike, I don’t know if you’ve made a video like this yet, but I think we’d all love to hear about your story, how you came into bikes, how you cut your teeth learning to fix them, and how you got to where you are today!

Okay. Type in KZbin. Then, type in Pacific Mike. When our homepage comes up, click on the word "videos." Then type in the search bar, "Getting a Job in a Motorcycle Shop." You'll see it. I'm sitting on Babydoll talking. There are over 325 of our videos. By using the words I said, you can easily find that video.

Yup, 65 clutch adjustment is a pain in the backside. When I replaced my fork lock I drilled out the old one. Not easy as you have to be very careful, but it worked.

Hey Mike, as always, I love watching your videos, you’ve taught me a lot of great tips with working on my ‘79 Shovelhead. And I love the t-shirt I bought from you, I get a lot of comments about it as a lot of people know who you are and what you do! If I could make a suggestion, Cameraman Mike ought to have a microphone also, because sometimes he asks a question that we can’t hear, but you answer and we have to try to figure out what the question was in the first place, and many times they are good questions or comments that he poses. Just a thought. Keep up the great work, and stay safe. If ever I find myself across this big country of ours, hopefully I’ll “see you out on the road” ! - Mike from Long Island NY
✌️, haven't checked in lately. Always good to sea your posts

Mike I've had that same nightmare twice with a mousetrap and a Rivera clutch I had the lengthen the anchor for The mousetrap spring so it wouldn't have so much tension

Will grab a shirt next month (aka probably next week) as I get my first Harley in approximately 2 weeks (04’ tc88 heritage). 30 bucks for shipping is hard, but they are damn cool shirts :)

One side is vented. That's the right cap. The left one is not. The caps may need new gaskets. Easy.
