Where do you live to get 12 eggs for 77c and 2lbs of strawberries for 2$? The eggs are at least 2-3$ and the 2lbs of strawberries are pretty much only sold at Costco for 8-9$, the other stores have only 1lb for 4-5$. What you bought for 65$ would actually cost around 150$ at my place...easily.

Shop around for sales thats what i do now, I spend too much money at Costco thinking it's cheaper to buy in bulk... Big mistake, the food rotted and I had to throw a lot away.

Smith's was amazing this month! I got some clearance chocolate milk too, but mine was whole milk and it was 99 cents. I looked for packaged fish deals, but my smith's didn't have any, I did get some good deals on individual fresh packaged ones though and we're having fish tacos this week so it came at a perfect time! I was excited about the strawberry deal too, but sad about the asparagus because I bought some last week when it was 1.98/lb, which was still good for winter, but not as good as this! I'm following a meal plan from cleansimpleeats so I'm trying to buy only the ingredients I need for the week and then any deals I see on the side to create a stock pile. That is such a score on those protein drinks! Another great video! LOVE them! I watch you and my other youtube channels over tv ;)

What do u think abt organic? Do we really need to buy organic strawberries and everything? I can’t seem to afford
@psymompa
@psymompa 4 жыл бұрын
We see berries as something special and only buy organic because they hold onto pesticides (I'm a cancer survivor-trying to eat cleaner). We wait for them to be in season and stock up. Last week at Sprouts, the organic strawberries were 3 for $5. Crazy deal. When not on sale, we stick to the less expensive fruits and veggies.

Her comment about iceberg lettuce...I agree it’s not my favorite either, but I’m choosing it over Romaine because of the lower risk of contamination that has been seen in the produce lately. About purchasing discounted meat that’s close to expiration...my husband got sick from beef that was still within a few days of the sell by date. He said I was never to buy anything like that ever again.

I've been super happy with the My Protein chocolate whey powder. You can only get it online but it's SO yummy. I've had a lot of brands that are blah. Cellucor is pretty good too. EAS is totally not my favorite but it's cheap. Have her try out the my protein.

Where i live in NJ, the best I can do is $1.99 per dozen eggs and $1.99 per pound for strawberries when they're on sale. You're definitely responsible with your spending but the prices are impossible for me to find.
@psymompa
@psymompa 4 жыл бұрын
The best I can do is $2.99 for pasture raised eggs if I get them on sale at Sprouts. If I want super fresh, I can pick up from a local farmer for $4 a dozen. Fresh eggs are the best. Most eggs at the grocery store are at least one month old. I'm willing to pay more for eggs (eat less) because we don't eat meat.

Perhaps blanched. I know I’ve had them in some of the frozen Lean Cuisines I’ve purchased. That’s sort of my to-go way of seeing if an item will freeze: if they are in frozen entrees.
