Wrestling = all around bad ass. “Once you’ve wrestled, everything else in life is easy.”

I think combat sports are pretty underrated, relative to other youth sports. I don't think they're as beneficial in regards to things like jumping, or top end sprinting. However, in terms of developing strength, endurance, explosiveness in confined spaces, body control, and like you said- toughness, they're pretty hard to beat.

@@zackhurwitz9441 especially as people age that top end speed and explosive jumping diminishes the fastest. But staying tough, conditioned, and strong will last you for much longer and is more applicable to day to day life imo

I’ve been playing lacrosse for 25 years now so I’m a little biased in that direction for sure. I think the most important thing for youth sports is to try everything. Martial arts, rock climbing, soccer, even baseball 🤮, endurance sports, gymnastics, etc. they all provide tremendous benefits for developing athletes. Plus they don’t get bored!

How would you approach training an older "athlete"? As in someone trying to retain as much athleticism, strength and size as they battle Father time?

I think you'd add much to teaching the Olympic Lifts. All your vids are to the point. I think they'd be beneficial. Totally understand what you mean though. And I agree on sprinting. If I could I'd sprint 1-2 times a week.

Do you think sprinting on those curved treadmills can be a substitute you can't get access to a track or some turf. Big ups for the new job btw

Will, I am running your launch 1.0 program right now. I just started week 5 of the program. In week 3, the trap bar deadlifts caused me some pain in my lower back. I had been able to train through it and started feeling better for the last week, but yesterday during a set of the squats off the pins I tweaked it again. Have you ever experienced something like this in your own training? Is there a strategy you employ to continue training through some nagging lower back pain? I watched a couple of your videos on lower back pain and how to address it and adjust your training. Some of your opinions have changed since you wrote launch 1.0 and I was curious if your strategy for dealing with the pain I am experiencing would be different based on the exercises you prescribed in that program. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Past learning the lifts and technique in the beginning. Do you think there is a need for continuous coaching if you just want to use the olympic lifts as a supplementary exercise?

sir, name some exercises to even out strength assymetries in the hips for former Muay Thai fighter. These assymetries are killing me, cannot get strong because of lower back pain.

Gotta do a bunch of exercise variety, bend your back in exercises that you perceive as safe to get your body used to moving the back freely again. Train what you can train hard, machines are good if you have access. You can still train arms to failure if your back hurts. Lifestyle is important in back pain, as are your beliefs around pain related to exercise.
