Some very impressive kit bashing going on in the community. Good to see that spirit of a bit of this and that still exists.

There were some wild kits on display. I bought a DXTremeII kit several years ago and then started buying extra bits for it. I could have had quite a good set up but I was to busy working and it was only my son playing it. I still have it and all the extra bits and bobs plus rack hardware that I'm trying to sell. I liked the 2 box set up. It' looked great.

This is by far, the most comprehensive review of electronic drums and kit technology on KZbin, you should be proud of yourself Justin! If you were ranking them, the No.1 look and sound goes to Admeezy (IMO) How GOOD LOOKING is that DWe kit?? I agree with you that the Roland symbol combination matches beautifully, it’s CLEAN and understated, so very professional! Admeezy is raising the profile of ALL drummers by lighting up the kit, there’s so much movement and action there, it’s inspirational Thanks for sharing such a great video Justin

I absolutely LOVE the DIY stuff. I thought I was creative buying up extra rack components, repurposing clamps and hanging my laptop and other equipment off the rack but I am nothing but an amateur next to some of these. I was quite happy with mine until I saw these. Now I need a ton more pads. 😄

That was a lot of fun checking out all the sets people have put together !!! That one dudes set with the most drum parts was totally insane !!! Going up the walls....WOW !!!!!!! I'd love to sit at that for a day or 3....lol Thanks to all the people who sent in great sets, and thanks Justin for putting it all together !!! The edrum world has some interesting set ups !!! Have a great day !!! :-) Ps Justin, I'll have to send you a pic of my Lekato set up attached to a TD6 module with drum splitters for shidz and giggles, it's something I took to the beach this summer to jam with my friends there...lol

I missed the submission, but I have a conversation kit: Mapex shells, Pearl Tru-Trac pads all around, Jobeky e-cymbals, one DIY low volume crash, all tied to a Roland TD-17.

Some incredible ingenuity in most of these kits. I really do prefer the kits that can pull off an acoustic stage presence over those that don't. They are just more appealing and interesting to look at but in the end it's how they perform that matters the most.
@65Drums14 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I like acoustic size drums more as well. But I appreciate all set ups that are well thought out.

Love all these awesome e-kits! They are gorgeous! Thanks for including mine. Yes I definitely understand the hate for the lemon module it’s pretty bad it’s only used to trigger the fourth crash second china and left kick drum. So far it handles trigger accuracy well, but wouldn’t recommend for main module.

Hey Justin, Thanks for showing my (current) gigging kit. I feel honoured to get a mention with all the awesome kits on show. I would just like to point out though, Mike at Drone sold me the LV cymbals complete, I didn't convert them myself. An oversight on my part in the description. They were great for several years and I would still be using them. It was just a chance try out of the ATV cymbals that made me go over to rubber cymbals. The trade off of them playing a little better was not feeling as nice under-the-stick. You are right, it is a Gibraltar Stealth Rack set up. Trial and errors is definitely a good way to describe my journey, but for sure, less error than trial.

That entirely DIY and 3d printed kit with the VR Controller is actually the most unique and creative drumkit in general I've ever seen! I wish the segment on it were longer, I NEED to hear it and see how it works. If it works well, then its also insanely impressive

On the DTX-8 bass drum mod that I did, I only needed to drill three holes in the KP90. Two in the metal frame and one the top as shown. I like how the KP90 feels and adding the mesh on top made no difference. Similar to using a patch.
@DouglasLippi18 сағат бұрын
15:47 the answer is it depends. If the sound effect is written into the drum book then I do it. Also, sometimes the person running sound doesn't have time to do a sound and they'll request that I do it. Thanks for including me! As time permits I'll put some video of these kits on my YT channel.

@@65Drumsnot doubt it's addicting! But people sell them cheaper on the Toontrack forums, so cost isn't too bad. Usually half off...

Australia is so expensive!! I think I may need to shop overseas for a Roland kit !! Why is it so cheap in USA ???
@ianmclean554117 сағат бұрын
Speaking personally, if I had spent as much time practising drums as I have spent buying and selling tweaking and messing around with them, then I would probably be a 25% better player. To be honest, half the fun is messing around with all this stuff. I see that I am not alone in the game😊

I totally get it, Sometimes the gear is part of the experience. Same thing in the camera industry or the car industry.
@ozthekeymaster18 сағат бұрын
I would love to know the specifics of how he put the custom case together at 9:55!!!! There is a definite market for someone to produce a custom housing for the more plastic-y/25 pin snake modules like the TD27 where the sounds are good (yes I know - Roland - but shoot me - I don't mind them for live work!) but the module is less robust than it could be.

How many of these people with the mega e-kits actually play gigs with other musicians on these kits ?
@65Drums14 сағат бұрын
I don’t think that’s really the point of mega setups. It’s like asking “how many guys who constantly work on their cars actually race them on a track?” It’s more about the process and just having fun.

Yikes. Some of these (men) people seem to have a very, very bad case of G.A.S. 😂. Me? I just want a four piece e-kit with rubber cymbals or those new Simmons half metal/half rubber pads. 😂
