This is exactly what I said the other day. It’s lovely watching Sean’s videos. He’s wholesome, comical, down to earth. And his pace of life is how I remember things from growing up in the 70’s and 80’s. I find watching him very therapeutic. ❤

Sean, my mother also of South Wales valleys heritage used a lot of salt. She said that it was because the miners in her family needed salt because of the hard manual work.

A teaspoon of salt in say a pot full of potatoes or other vegetables is not really over salting (in my opinion).

Wow Sean, there seem to be so many ideas/projects running through your mind. Think you need to get the desk/bookshelves room set up, organise the understairs cupboard, have a nice cup of tea then plan how you'll get the shed up. Consolidate then move on. Ok I'll shut up now 😂

@connydm729 When you say, “I went down a rabbit hole”, it men’s; It took a lot longer than you thought it would. You meant to just go here, look for this…. But, as you went to look for one thing- there were branches or tunnels and it took led you to many other findings, which led you to more findings and it seemed never ending. Hope that makes sense. It’s not a bad thing, rather a fascinating route of discovery. Another saying, kind of like that, here in US- “I went to do one thing, and I had to do 10 more”.

I didn't read all 258 comments, so apologies if someone else has already mentioned it: You don't need to buy another door to put a cat flap in. Look online for a cat flapt that fits your current door (= depth of the actual door), and then just saw out the hole in the size that is described in the leaflet. I did that for my cats too, and it works perfectly. A LOT less expensive that buying a new door! ;)

If you need extra storage in the kitchen, you could place items on top of the cabinets. Perhaps get some baskets/ bins to store smaller things. Put a shelf or two over the stove. You could line your spices on it.

Weather overcast in Essex today was a lovely day yesterday. Abit chilly now. Enjoyed watching you in the garden, once your sweet peas, start growing your arch will look great. If you put up some extra shelving in your cupboard under the stairs. You could have a larder for tin food etc.for the winter, so if the weather gets really bad you have stuff to fall back on. If the rain keeps off will be pottering around garden. Where I live will be full of day trippers so I will Potter about at home.

I use pink Himalayan salt. I read it is low in sodium for blood pressure, but high in minerals. Much healthier than table salt. I have used Cornish sea salt as well. Your grinders are “butiful” Sean, I like the natural wood rather than Perspex. 👌It’s fine and sunny in Lancashire this morning after the heavy rain we have had the past couple of days, so I will get out into the garden this afternoon after shopping, to plant some more veg and herbs and I have a pink blueberry to get in place as well. We are behind here in the garden due to bad weather, but things will catch up I’m sure. Like you - slow and steady wins the race.

Memorial Day weekend for those of us in the USA. Memorial Day is supposed to be a day of reflection and a reminder of those that died during war but many people just see it as a day off to be able to go out and barbecue and not work. It's kind of lost it's meaning for many. I know I will probably get some delivery driving in over the weekend as well as a few tasks around the house. It's raining on and off right now so plans will change by the hour! Trying out the soap and candles thing as well, though I'm a bit more utilitarian than some of the artisans out there (keep to plain styles and nice fragrances). Some of the artists make some really pretty soaps, but I don't think I have the patience for that. Keep it simple!

Hi Sean, I used to use nothing but sea salt then I read somewhere to have a bit of table salt due to the sodium as lack of sodium can cause depression, now I used a bit of each. Your sweetpea arch is going to look lovely! I couldn't help but notice the stone balanced on the bricks above your gate, looks a bit dodgy does that 🙃 It will probably be fine for another 100 years but I would just be wary. Beautiful weather here in Lancashire today. I believe we are in for some more rain after today, let's hope they've got it wrong. Enjoy the sunshine 🌞

Hello Sean, interesting video watching the variety of planting you have done , how well they have come on. I plant sweetpeas and after a fashion build the wigwam style frame it always looks crooked but the sweetpeas find a way and give a good show.Thats the main thing . I'm not one for formal gardening, my front garden makes my neighbours stop to look even people I don't know comment on my garden of colourful plants some in no dig beds I laid soil and compost onto the concrete, I have Mahonia shrubs and orange blossoms shrub to miniature roses palm trees in containers many varieties in containers mostly seasonal. a shady place to sit and a water feature I made myself , solar light at night give a nice glow winter or summer, birds love the blossoms I feel blessed just relaxing there watching in the late evening as the sun dips behind the neighbouring roof tops after a peaceful hour with a cuppa, listening to blackbirds last song of the day. "Beautiful " Keep at it Sean you will achieve your goal, There's always time for a "cuppa tea" along the way.👏🌹💚

I can see that the head of your door frame is slightly out of level, I have done lots of doors that are much worse than this. you would have to plane top of door to suit if you don't want to mess with the frame. I would probably replace the head of the frame but I am a carpenter so it's easy for me to say, also it looks like there is a pipe and a cable on the left hand side so that makes it difficult. 6'6" x 2'6" is the nearest available size, should be ok, its normal to take an inch off the height, it looks like there is a fairly large gap on the right hand side so I suspect that the opening is more like 29.5" or so. best to measure with a proper tape measure to check.

I remember drinking council pop (tap water) in my grandmother’s house in the 70’s. It tasted chemically to me, it was horrible. I’ve stayed in a hotel in Harrogate. They provided us guests with bottled water. I don’t recall seeing the water being a funny colour in the bathroom though. When I lived in Swansea we used to get muddy water in the summer, I used to stock up on bottled water every summer.

Here in my part of germany it was up to 28 Celsius in the last to weeks, to warm for my taste but I was able to plant out beans ( pole and bush ), tomatos, basil, peppers, chilli, honey nut, zucchini, cucumbers, melons and tomatollos. The last days it got a bit cooler, we have had rain and thunderstorms. We are down to 20 Celsius and the cats enjoy sleeping on the sofa. Hope you have a lovly weekend. ❤

I use sel de Guérande for cooking and Maldon for adding to food ready to eat. I have white continue flowering now and the smell is divine. My lavender is just about to burst out. I have had French lavender papilion blooming for a few weeks now. I moved from a large rural garden in Norfolk last year after my partner died. I bought a new build so you can imagine how my gardening experience has changed. We had extensive veg beds and were no-dig gardeners. Have you been to a Charles Dowding open day - usually in September? Well worth a visit. Your little garden is coming along nicely. The arbour for the sweetpeas fits in well.

I use Himalayan Rock salt, there's rumours that there are plastics in most sea salt, amongst other things your grinders are lovely! thanx for sharing

Why is it when I’m watching you I can’t help feeling I’m watching myself but I don’t have the lovely Welch accent , and I do find myself answering my own questions.

Always such a pleasure to see your videos, it’s colder than normal here only eighty degrees Fahrenheit, truly grateful for the rain we have had. Utah is truly beautiful this time of year, everyone’s roses and Iris are blooming. My peppers and tomatoes are coming along, all the fruit trees need thinning, it’s turning out to be a gorgeous summer.

In the US, Monday is Memorial Day, when we honor fallen military, so a three-day weekend here as well. In Denver, Colorado, the weather will be perfect-mid 70s, maybe a little rain.

Hi Sean, in Canada our May long weekend is Victoria Day, to celebrate Queen Victoria 🤷‍♀️😁. Where I live in the province of Alberta it is the unofficial start to the camping season. Inevitably campers will get snowed on.
