Nice job on the project, and description of the work.

Thanks, I wish I could’ve done more video of me actually installing the cable but it’s pretty tight and there’s no way to get a camera in there

What transmission is that? I have a 65 Mustang with a transmission and it’s original cable from a 92 Mustang. I have a Holley Sniper installed. I could never manage to adjust the cable correctly. The shift from first gear to second is always kinda rough. From second to overdrive the gear shifting is pretty good though. Would your Lokar cable work on mine? Thanks!
@LowBoostFilms2 жыл бұрын
Yea the lokar cable is a must. I also put a spring on the TV cable to it returns properly. I made the video to show the proper adjustment of it. It takes some tweaking

@@LowBoostFilms I’m going to check out that video. What transmission you have? I have an AOD from a 92 Mustang. Thanks buddy!

@@narcissist3668 I have a link to it in the description of this video. It’s an AOD out of a mid 80s truck I think.

Interesting car...mostly 66 but with the 65 grill. Is that on purpose? Also, is all of the adjustment of the AOD done with that cable at the top of the motor? I need to adjust my TV cable and have had a hard time finding videos of the actual adjustment. They say "adjust to full throttle and blah blah" but they don't SHOW the adjustment like you did. Thanks!
@LowBoostFilms2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that grill was on it when I got it, I might change it to a 66 grill but I don’t dislike this one, Yes the adjustment is by the throttlebody. I tried to show as best I could how to actually adjust it so you could see what it looks like on the pressure gauge

the transmission is lockup or non lockup?

good job Ken . Hows it drive with the self learning efi ?
@LowBoostFilms2 жыл бұрын
Like a charm really. I’m sure it would make more power with a proper tune and the fact that I do not have the Holly controlling the timing. But that’s all stuff I can add easily later. I do need to adjust the transmission to shift later, currently it short shifts
@ramairetransam2 жыл бұрын
@@LowBoostFilms why isn't it controlling the timing ?
@Projectblackkjack2 жыл бұрын
He needs a hyperspark distributor for that
@LowBoostFilms2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have it wired for it, I need a other a hyper spark distributor, or an msd ignition system.
@ScifiFri2 жыл бұрын
@@LowBoostFilms It's my understanding you can't adjust the timing of a shift on an AOD, only the duration of shift... err on the side of adjusting the TV cable too tight which is safe for the AOD but will result in long shifts. Then adjust down to get the right shift. The shift points would be a factor of the AOD gears and the rear diff ratio. 2.8 rear end would have really high shift points and 3.8 would have lower (like OD at 45mph). Am I wrong? I guess there are throttle body kits you can install that will impact shift points, but that requires working on the AOD itself.
