Tondu used to be such a hub for rail traffic - fascinating that some of the old lines (Garw) are still in semi-use.

Thanks for viewing and comment, yes Tondu was really busy when i was kid early mid 50's, there are some special rail excursions comes along the old line from Port Talbot and vice versa

Why do they freight trains go up there for? just to come back?

Simon Beddis hi simon, the mainline from bridgend to pyle was closed for maintenance works, what i hear its closed for 5 sundays, this was week 2, so what they do is use the old line for an escape route, for freight traffic
