Unlike a lot of Mustang fails, he actually quit while he was ahead. Others just keep hammering the throttle hoping it will self-correct.

lol but I've watched someone total a mustang by letting off the throttle, started angling towards my car but he turned the other way, hopped the curb, took a light pole down, came back around and hit a tree.

I wouldn't say it was a good save though. I like his priorities. He didn't try to keep it going to see if he could get it in a nice line, he swallowed his pride and took the foot off the pedal. Good man, nice car.

Ariel Diaz Saving = saving not busting a cool drift. This is the point where you either keep going and spin out into the right side or into on coming traffic, or you stop and try to regain control. Someone who put themselves into a slide in that fashion will never be able to ride it out in a nice drift staying in his own lane.
@Truckito2007
@Truckito2007 9 жыл бұрын
Subaru Slow You're entirely right, at the moment where he steps on the brakes you see that there's no way he could get out of that situation with the foot on the pedal. You're right, it was already too late to save it. I'm glad he saw it though. It would have sucked to have crashed it.
@dwoodog

Ariel Diaz well said, if he had min skills it woulda been hard to save. Hell, I couldn't have done it. At 45yrs old and watched a ton of these "fail" vids I know better where to show boat and where not to.

He didn't counter-steer soon enough. That minute you lose grip you should start to centre the wheel. That split second when his rear left wheel goes over that white line is where his throttle control should have come in, ease it off a little but keep the tires spinning, a little less right-steer and bam. Sorted.

fastimeinotime Yes I did... what you mean "nobody" has ever complained about the handling? Even the Boss 302 that's the best handling mustang had complains about bad rear suspension behaviour in rough roads... you know, the budget rear suspension can't cope with everything

Jonny Oliveira stop being so ignorant, 1999 and 2001-04 cobras and cobra r had irs and handled great, the 2015 has irs as well. the boss 302 is also faster than an m3 around laguna seca. every car has is quirks and rough road handling with the live axle isnt great but it can launch much harder than most irs cars because it has no camber change

662 horsepower is a lot, so to keep YOU in control, the designers ( and insurance Co.) have to keep a "safety factor"! If you have ever had a light car with big torque, you quickly realize that weight is important to "stick" to the road, that's why the bugatti veyron is so heavy, to keep you in control. The Ariel Atom is super light, 500 horsepower, but it can't even compete with heavier cars! It,s a gamble of power to weight, what's your safety factor?
