THIS is what I'm talking about. Always been a metal head, but as you reach certain age, all that brutal death grind and 80's trash gets really old and (it hurts to say...) kind of annoying. When you need something more elaborate, heavier, more melodic and of more musical quality and substance, bands like these are perfect.

i agree, raw black metal and brutal death grind sound really dull especially the ones from the 80s. I like how new bands are trying something new and different.

Yes I could or I could just listen to cannibal corpse who spend their career and lives perfecting death metal....I am not into most new death metal bands that sound like you know space invaders they seem to lack the groove and frankly brutality of the old school death metal bands from what I have heard. I will try vektor I like some thrash cheers.

do u get what i mean when i say i love but hate black metal? i love screams on the higher side that arent as extreme as those of heavymetal/black metal/deathmetal etc bands, but more those modern-rock bands like sws, ptv etc (even though their lyrics arent that good). but i love the haunting melodies of symphonic black metal songs- i just dont like the screaming paired with it. unless it's that mayhem band? i think their screams are less harsh to the ear... well, i think. cause my friend who loves black metal has shown me some of their music before. and the drums are ok but a bit too fast for the mellow creepiness which i love.

well, i mean the mellow creepiness of symphonic black metal music. but a song like "justify" by red jumpsuit apparatus is the perfect kind of darkish music i love, as it doesnt have as heavy drums or harsh screams as that of the heaviest rock genres.
