Thank you for another fun and interesting episode. Glad you mentioned getting the quad to and from the mainland I had come to the conclusion that you were using the ford at very low tide. The garden must keep you busy, the topiary dog will look amazing. we just spent the last few days cutting up fallen trees for firewood a hard but satisfying job once it is done. It is lovely to see the changing seasons and the spring blooms. You both do a wonderful job of filming nature the variety is great, Nigel covered in snow during the winter was a particular favourite.😃🧡

Never one to teach my grannie ( as my folks used to say ) BUT would a wee bit o practice not mean you could manoeuvre the trailer in reverse while still attached to the quad ? - I appreciate there would be less potential video content but might save at least some of the back strain even if you have to detach before loading stuff like kerosene barrels ? - Also a wee but o syphoning some into smaller containers such as the 2 white Jerry cans in the background may also lesson the stress ? - I know I know - the armchair critic always knows best 😇 - I enjoy the show - fine it relaxing actually and a lovely reminder of what my home country offers 👏👏👏

Not to second guess you two. BUT you need a hand truck. I worked in many manual labor jobs and the most valuable piece of equipment is a hand truck. Saves arms, backs, and allows you to move almost anything. Logs, rocks, barrels, furniture, etc. Plus 2 wheels roll over obstacles easier than 4 wheels.

Geese make for good guard 'dogs'...I have heard! Scot 1 and the Pine 0! Waiting for the rest of the trunk to fall naturally was the best and safest thing to do, Scot! Katie is the best log thrower. Jeeves, the cat has got to be building a fan base of it's own. I looked back at what you two do with seaweed. I forgot! Can you believe in just over 3 months time (12 weeks) it will be your 1st year anniversary on the Island. How will you celebrate? Nature up close can be scary. If the eagle talons was anything like the massive seagulls attacking people- silly enough to have food on view at the seaside...like me with my freshly made sugared doughnuts in an open bag! I know exactly how frightening that can be.

Hello from Colorado! Hi to Marie and David too! Fill the tire before you reload the kerosene! Or not. Don't light the stogie next to the kerosene!!!! It'll be a short youtube channel! Hannibal would not be happy with that plan! I loved George Peppard! He was always so pleased with himself. Almost smug. 🎶 I smoke old stogies I have found short, but not too big around. I'm a man of means by no means King of the road! 🎶 Roger Miller Rather than a bookcase, how about kitchen shelves? You want the runt of the litter. Do sheep have runts? I know they don't have litters per say.

Dealing with that 55 gallon drum made my fevered imagination turn it into a Fawlty Towers episode where the trailer & drum was hightailing it for the loch, and instead of Scott galloping after it, John Cleese. 😂 Anyway, another great episode. Lovely video. Loved your osprey adventure. Reminds me of when a great horned owl was using our car headlights to find mice and would swoop down in front of us to grab his supper. His wingspan was larger than the hood of the car (and it was a large car from the 70s). We were leaving our campsite in the middle of the night due to a very bad lightning storm. Mice had over run our campsite looking for shelter before the storm and we woke up to a deer tripping on out tent's guide wire during the storm (it landed with its butt inches away from my head). Four cows got hit by lightning that night - they were across the stream from our tent. Quite a memorable evening lol.

During the "binoculars-cam" I noticed some wire mesh piled up at the cliffside behind the geese. It looks a lot like the wire mesh that is on your quad path - perhaps washed up with the tide? Anyway, perhaps you could use it to reinforce the portion of your path nearer the house, where you were repairing a few episodes back?

Watching you with this ATV all I can think about is how we replaced the ATV with a Japanese Kei truck years ago. Not road registered but it sure did make a great improvement working around the land. No idea if something like that would be possible in the UK.

Scott and Katy enjoy the videos. Is it possible to provide an aerial of the island so we can better the see the size and relation to the mainland? Scott seems to have a burr in his saddle with respect to Americans. That’s unfortunate. Be safe and carry on. Dale (USA).
@TheScottishIsle
@TheScottishIsle 3 ай бұрын
Hi Dale. A few of you Americans seem to have had a sense of humour bypass. Scott's constant ribbing/teasing of Americans is just that, a joke. He's 'taking the piss', as we say over here. It's unfortunate that many of you have chosen to take offence at his humour. If it wasn't for the generosity of people from the US, we would never have been able to move to the island. Please try not to take anything Scott says seriously.

NIX THIS QUESTION! YOU ANSWERED IT RIGHT AFTER I TYPED IT! I must admit my ignorance -- how do you get that 4-wheeler and the trailer back and forth from the island to the mainland? You have to take the little boat over, to get to the mainland, right? Is there another way to get to the mainland? As in, a road or bridge? I'm rather confused at this point.
@TheScottishIsle
@TheScottishIsle 3 ай бұрын
There is no other way to get to the island other than by boat. At extremely low tides, we can get the quad across to the mainland to collect large items, like the barrel of kerosene.
